    Spark Plug Gaps?

'79-85 is .052-.056 I hope that u are not using 24's or 25's in those '86 heads. They take a Motorcraft extended tip AWSF or AGSF type plug, which translates to a Autolite 103,104, or 764.

    Summit Turbo Mufflers...Opinions?

I put Summit's cat-back with the Turbo mufflers on my dad's '95. They were louder than stock, with a nice burble, but a brutal drone. Once I tossed the stock H for offroad pipes, the drone disapeared and they sound awesome. A lot of rumble at idle, and it just get's better from there.

    Tb Cleaner Disaster

Please don't say you cleaned the MAF with TB or Carb cleaner! I'm willing to bet that's where the problem is.

    E and B -

Where are you getting the crate motor from? If it's Ford racing, they discontinued the P heads awhile ago. It would have Y or X aluminums. Either way, I would either stick with the E, or install the TFS Stage 1.

    GT40p Header help

Right you are. I almost forgot what forum I was in! To use the FMS headers, he would have to weld a bung on to the #3 tube for the EGR.(If he's still using the SN95 intake and EGR) Crankin, what intake are you using on that crate motor?

    GT40p Header help

I realize that you can get away with using standard headers, and most of us have no issues doing so on our own cars, even if it means a little extra work to change plugs, or using 90* boots, or cutting down plug sockets, etc.(I'm using Flowtech LT's on mine) I suggested P specific, only because...

    A few Q's...

I have a set of P heads that I'm getting ready to intall on my '79. My first Q is: Are they side specific? It looks to me that the accesory holes are threaded at both ends of the heads. 2. This one concerns plugs. My engine is a stock '84 HO short block with: Performer RPM...

    smog tube head bolts

Man where in Canada are you? I'm in Ontario, and I've placed 2 large orders with Summit, and the longest an order took was 6 days! Also, I would find another stealership! (or at least talk the owner into s**t caning the parts staff.)Part #'s are the same in Canada as the are in the US.

Where to buy 3" mid pipe for 1 3/4" hooker 6227 Longtube headers?

I believe hooker and Flowtech are the only ones that make 'stang specific H and X pipes that mate to LT's with a 3 bolt collector. The only thing is, they are 2 1/2". I really wouldn't worry about that extra 1/2". They also have the ball socket at the cat back end to mate up with stock style...

AOD won't upshift!! Can anyone help? -->

I pulled the VB and installed a shift kit in my AOD last night. It looks terrifying on paper, but once you drop the pan, and pull the VB, it all becomes clear, and it's actually pretty easy. Hanes has a tech manual for Ford tranny's that has great diagrams and pics, along with some excellent...

    79-85 Mustangs

If you are going to keep the C4, you will have to shorten the tubes on the double hump to get it to fit in the frame brackets. If you swap to a T-5 or an AOD, you will either have to cut and re-weld the rear bracket, or modify the crossmember to get everything to line up. The reason is, the...

    Weird Freeze Plug/Cooling Q.

I installed a Flowtech off-road H in my dad's '95 'vert yesterday to go along with the Summit cat-back I bought him for x-mas(sounds friggin awesome!) After all the troubles I had with breaking header studs and busting an O2 sensor, I finally all went together. I fired it up and revved it up a...
