Batt Q: 200A fuse survives on "+" terminal so starter draws <200A?

Well, I finally killed it. While rewiring things, I let the alternator wire fall and ground and a HUGE spark later, all power was out. I attached a spare battery with jumpers and power came back on. I recharged the little guy but it wont even hold enough juice to roll the windows down after...

Perfect! It even has the plug shapes! Thanks dude! Looks like a lot of the wiring is for the a/c compressor clutch, which I am not worrying about for now...since, well, I dont have AC!

Wiring a heater box from scratch. I dont have any oem plugs....I need some plug diags

Hello all! In my quest to roll the old girl back to normality, I decided to put actual honest to goodness real heat back in the cabin so I can defrost my windows and not freeze to death in winter. My friend Rick Menard provided me the full heater box with the colored vacuum tubing (got the...

Does the mustang have a wire that is hot key-on AND start? Wiring ignition sys.

So I was right....there IS no hot key on and run wire. It is created from splicing the brown/pink (start hot) with red/green (run hot). I did my splice and all is good. I find it kind of odd the factory did not just simply produce a dual hot wire rather than splicing. The whole splice thing...

Does the mustang have a wire that is hot key-on AND start? Wiring ignition sys.

Allright, I'll try splicing together the r/lg with the br/pk and see if the car starts starting. Does the white/pk come from a different plug on the column? Is it seperate from the br/pk wire?

Does the mustang have a wire that is hot key-on AND start? Wiring ignition sys.

No I'm not using the factory wiring....all that is left of the factory wiring is the ignition switch, wiper wires, lights wiring and the guages wiring. I cut out everything not required to clean it up. There must be something special about the splice. If I just merge the 2 wires, then the...

Does the mustang have a wire that is hot key-on AND start? Wiring ignition sys.

When last I wired and looked for it, I could not find one. Since I only had key-on hot, I had to wire the ignition system directly to the battery with a switch inbetwen. This amuses my friends cause I can take the key out while the car is moving and engine still runs but it is kind of ghetto and...

Super stuck oil filter! WTF! I've now crushed the end down 2 wrench sizes.

Bashed, torched, crowbarred and a jack handle beaten through the middle. I smacked it with a mallet on the end. Then I burned around the outside with a torch. Then I bent the ends back with a mini crowbar. Finally, I took the aforementioned hydraulic jack handle, held it up to the side and...

Super stuck oil filter! WTF! I've now crushed the end down 2 wrench sizes.

See? This is what happens when I forget to grease a part of the car! :D :D By the way, the grease is still looking "good" almost a year later. Hasnt washed off and not a spot of rust anywhere underneath

Super stuck oil filter! WTF! I've now crushed the end down 2 wrench sizes.

I have an almost 150 degree arc to attach the filter wrench and turn it. However..... I attach the wrench and pull it into place and lose 40 degrees of movement. Then the filter crushes so the handle is now folded over the filter, eating 90 degrees and a lot of leverage possibility. Then...

Super stuck oil filter! WTF! I've now crushed the end down 2 wrench sizes.

Screwdriver method didnt work.... I cant get enough leverage to make a difference. I cant wrench because the end of the filter has been squeezed down to such a small surface than all my wrenches freeturn. I was almost done with the project too!

Super stuck oil filter! WTF! I've now crushed the end down 2 wrench sizes.

I did not change the filter on the last hurried oilchange and the oil change intervals were higher than I usuually go for.... and now, I go to change the filter and it wont budge. I mean this thing is stuck. The s8a wrench crushed the end. No problem, I think, pull out my import wrench. That...

So how do you know when to give up?

Ever driven a turbo beetle? You would not make fun of it, my dear sir, until you have experienced the joy of over 200 horsies in such a small wel balanced package. GEHRMAN ENGINHEERINK JA! (my friend had one and it was plenty fast) Plus...I'd put the flower in just to piss people off....A...

So how do you know when to give up?

Still have it. Ended up getting that saab 9000 back in october and have been doing nothing but fixing THAT since then (headgasket, transmission, turbo). Ironically, the "unreliable ford" was a real trooper in this interrim period. It worked without a single glitch the entire time. Seems the less...

    Mustang snowmobile!

It you know what you're doing then driving in the snow is no problem at all. So this morning, I had to climb a hill in the mustang to get to the train station. The moment I made the left onto the street with the hill, I knew it was a mistake. They had not plowed it yet and there was a good few...

Batt Q: 200A fuse survives on "+" terminal so starter draws <200A?

So on this lovely frozen morning of single digit temperatures, I thought I would give an update on the motorcycle battery situation. It is....hands down....the single most resilient battery I have ever placed in any vehicle I have ever owned. Even my monster diesel truck batteries and top of...
