    Sounds like something isn't hooked up right then. If you read +10v on that wire with the ignition jumper pulled... try checking right at the solenoid. Mabey you got another bad one, it should read 0v /w the key out. I'd keep tracking that wire down until you find out where the +10 is coming from.

    Just installed mgw shifter: problem

    Steeda says the same thing... but says "WHILE PUSHING IN 3rd gear". So push up in 3rd and tighten it until there is .010" of space between nut and spacer, then do the same while pulling down in 2nd. Found instructions /w google, (bought my triax used on ebay)...

    How do I adjust my timeing when the balancer has no markings??

    Bought a timing light that has electric display /w advance on it.     new motor help

    If it's white or clear i've heard also that water condesates in the tailpipes/mufflers overnight and will burn off/blow out as steam on startup. If this only happens for a second or two it may be just that.

    Lost power, need help

    If you see the timing marking pointing at 20° on the balancer when the light flashes then you are at 20° no matter where your dizzy is stabbed. The light flashes when the #1 plug has juice on it, and shows you where the #1 piston is in relation to the balancer... doesn't matter where the dizzy...

    plugs Had the same problem after I put long tubes in, turns out i put plugs 1 & 2 on backwards... check and make sure you didn't do the same.

    Whats the difference between header gaskets?

    Funny cuz the gaskets that come /w the bbk headers are oval... the copper gaskets I ordered from mr gasket were square but i got the wrong ones. Package says up to year 86. The 87-93 package has oval holes ... The stock gaskets I pulled off has square holes, so I just used the gaskets I got...

    car still cranking over with keys not in car??

    Not sure how the starter could still be cranking /w a good realy... the relay would have cut the pos juice. The relay has to feed it juice, it has no other way to turn over. Mabey a bad starter fried the relay... by pulling to much juice and not moving etc. More likely your bad relay burned...

    Just installed my bbk lt myself... was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I pulled the plug boots and set them on the engine. Removed the mass air and tubing /w air filter. Removed the air pump hoses. Then I undid the mounts, one bolt you can get at easily from under the car...

    Detonation problem with 14* timing!!

    Had the same issue as you after I spun the balancer... replaced balancer and it fixed the vibration issues but had a breakup after 3k rpm. Turned out to be the TFI module... problem only occured after motor had warmed up too.

    Hypothetically Speaking......

    Did you rotate the engine to TDC and check to make sure the balancer is at 0 deg? I blew my balancer (too high rpm) once, it was a little off and got a vibration at 1k rpm that cleared up by 2k rpm and sounded like a miss at 600-750 rpm (idle). It later spun more and had a horrible shake...

    So when a dipstick tube breaks off flush with the block...

    mabey try putting some super glue on a coat hanger, then push it in the hole and hold it against the inside of the tube... let it set and come back later and try to twist/pull it out.

    Same problem /w bbk h-pipe & cats, passenger side was about 2-3 inches off. Exhaust shop just cut it and re-weleded it on at the right angle to make it.

    ok.. what I figured. Guess i'll find a h or x pipe... havn't heard an x pipe on my car yet... mabey check it out. I'm addicted to the nascar sound I'm getting at high RPM /w these long tubes and pro streets. Only have 4 more years of emissions testing here in texas for my car :)

    I just installed bbk long tubes (cermaic), bbk h-pipe /w high flow cats, spin tech pros treets and flowmaster tails... going from a 2 1/4 prev setup /w offroad hpipe (custom made etc) and flowmaster 40's. I remember the 40's being a lot louder... especially at idle. Anyone else have pro...
