    CD player!

i dont post a lot, ive been around lurking for quite a while but never signed up. ive been a "member" for coming up on a year now so im not as new as 8 post would suggest. i just dont spend tons of time in the tech forums since i dont currently have a stang. on the back on topic note, i...

    CD player!

i apologies for the insult, but i took the i went to school for two years as i know more than you because i have a degree. i used to get that all the time when i worked retail even though i have a BS in electrical engineering. im not saying he doesnt know anything about electronics, just that...

    CD player!

i have to say that if thats all you learned in two years you need to ask for your money back. i decided to test this theory just to see, so i hooked up a AA (typical flashlight battery) to a speaker and no matter which way i hooked it up it made a pop. further more, this has no relevance to...

    CD player!

i guess i was more thinking about the random bit of noise you would get from passing a dc signal through a speaker instead of the pop from the cone. in my 4 years of college we didnt really get into magnetics and speakers in any of my class. so i never really got an in depth knowledge of them...

last time i checked a speaker is basically just a giant resistor and you can run power through them in either direction. changing the polarity wont make it pop, if it doesnt make a noise you dont have the correct wires.

if you actually took the time to read my advice you would have seen that i said that twist and tape should work fine, but soldering is the best way! its not hard to undo a solder joint though, that and if you have done it before you should be confident enough to solder from the beginning. its...

    CD player!

you have something funny going on and i doubt its the twist and tape of the wires. if you do it right you will have no problems, ive done that on tons of systems and have never had an issue with any of them, flavadave can vouch for it. solder is the way to go though. if you dont have an amp...

    CD player!

i think you are hung up on this amp thing and its not the issue. if the f150 unit that was in there was working on 2 plugs then he only needs those two for this deck to work. ford has had some funky odd ball connectors, ive done tons of them and have had to go back for a new harness quite a...

89 4 cylinder coupe, gas mileage?

with the right gears i would guess close to 30 if you drive for milage. both 2.3 5spd rangers i have owned have got close to 30mpg when i would take it easy with them.

sounds like a bad ground to me, was the stereo in there working? is this a brand new unit or a used one? double and triple check your wiring to make sure it really is correct, then check for loose grounds.

Someone finally made them 4lug to 5 lug adapters for the fox.

if you use the crappy spacers thats common. i paid over $100 for 2 spacers for my truck. they bolt to the hub, and they have another set of bolts pressed into them so you have the proper amount of threads. i dont know how much i wold trust them with a vehicle with a lot of torque.

Someone finally made them 4lug to 5 lug adapters for the fox.

i have had spacers like that on the front of my 96 ranger for years so i could fit the wheels i wanted and i have never had any problems. it has never had any abuse like a mustang would though, so im not so sure i would trust them in your application. a junkyard 5 lug swap would be a safer bet.

    one expensive stang!!

if you read the add it wasnt the first mustang produced, there was a limited run of cars built to promote the new model. this car was the first car off the line of the cars produced for public sale, and it was the first on sold being delivered the night before official sales began. that will...

sorry to hear that man, i had to put my first dog down when i was 17, she made it to 14 so it wasnt bad, but man, holding her head as she is put to sleep is one of the hardest things i have ever done. i could see she knew what was going on, man that was tough!
