    What Is This Part Name?????

The technical term is "anti-tramp bar". They're basically slapper-type traction bars designed to limit windup-induced wheel hop. They came on '82-83 and early '84 GT's, after which they started using quad-shocks instead.

    Steering Issues

As for the tramlining, these cars have what I think is a terrible scrub radius that gives the tires leverage against the steering. The wider the tire, the worse it seems to get, and if the tires have any conicity in their wear (e.g. more tread on the outer edge than the inner edge), it gets...

Looking To Quiet My 5.0 Down A Bit.

I installed mine in place of an existing catback that already had Dynomax tailpipes. And I have had so many mufflers on this thing I've had to shorten and lengthen the intermediate tubes several times, so I don't know if they'd bolt right in place of an unmolested catback or not.

Looking To Quiet My 5.0 Down A Bit.

Yes, those are the Dynomax VT's, and if/when I finally blow these ones, I'm getting another set. They're perfect. This thread is pretty interesting http://forums.corral.net/forums/general-mustang-tech/2240058-dynomax-vts-w-o-r-x-pipe.html Here's how mine sounded when I still had dumps. Way...

Dynomax VT's. Quiet and drone-free at part throttle, louder and snarly when you step on it. /thread

Water Hose To Alternator Too Close ?

They all had that corrugated plastic cover for exactly that reason. If yours is gone, you might be able to get some at a hardware or car parts store. They call it "conduit".

Fuel Need Some Help And Advice

I had a persistent problem with overheating and aerating the fuel with a 190lph pump...for YEARS. Not thinking it could be the pump, I insulated every line I could find, I shielded the tank, I wrapped the tailpipes, I went to dumps and back, and it wasn't until the pump started to die that I...

    Exhaust Bullet Style Catalytic Converters

All well and good reasons, but in all fairness to the Mags, that 5 years and 40,000 miles included 4,000 miles of beating the :poo: out of it on road courses. When talking to Magnaflow and others before I bought them, nobody thought any of their available ceramic-substrate cats would last worth...

    SN95 Opinions On Catalytic Converters

Couldn't be happier now that I have a new set of Magnaflow 59926 Spun Metallic's on my car. Knocked the stink right off, and even passed emissions with an E cam and no air pump. This is my second set of these, and I didn't hesitate to replace them with the same thing, given the road course...

    Exhaust Bullet Style Catalytic Converters

Another testament to the Magnaflow spun metallics. I still had the old failed ones on the car, but I was tired of the stink, and I came due for another test. Now I have a new engine with an E303 cam that had me a little worried. I slapped in a new set of Magnaflow 59926's, dialed the timing back...

    Suspension Upgrades

Don't do all that work and leave the crusty old balljoints in it, they contribute more than most people think to :poo:ty ride quality.

    Motor Mount Selection Help

Energy Suspension mounts mimic the "convertible" and later hardtop mounts, and will probably lower the engine compared to the ones you have, assuming they're stock original. For your car, Prothane is probably a better bet since they mimic the earlier/non-convertible style mounts.

Trust Hole Markings On New Acc Mass Back Carpet?

I trusted the holes, and it caused the little rubber heel mat to be placed wrong, so not only have I worn a hole in the carpet because the heel mat isn't actually under my heels, it catches my foot and occasionally drives me batty.

Engine Installing W/ Or W/o Trans

If you have a load-leveling hoist and the ability to get the front end of the car nice and high in the air with the back wheels on the ground, it saves a lot of time and effort to put them in together.

    Qa1 14-110 Coil Overs Springs

When you say "spin out", do you mean wheelspin, or the car spinning out of control? Because if you say the car spins out of control often, I would say three things: First, slow the :leghump: down. Second, There may be something seriously wrong with the rear suspension. Lastly, maybe your first...
