    V10 in a restomod?

A Torino is one thing, but please don't do something like this to a Talladega.

    351w->393w: what can be reused?

You'll want to make sure that the heads and headers have the same bolt pattern as well. For some reason I'm thinking that the Canfields don't use the stock 2" bolt pattern. I think that the diameter will be ok for what you are doing, but you will be at the upper limit of what they will handle...

need help with my 1st car

Do yourself a favor and checkout the sbf tech dot com (of course remove the spaces & replace dot with a .) website. The Ford engine tech there is the best I've found anywhere.

    engine build recipe?

sbf tech dot com should be required reading for anyone building a Ford motor. I would personally recommend talking to Jay Allen @ Camshaft Innovations before you spend a dime on anything. If you listen to the guys at sbf tech and/or Jay you will get everything you are looking for.

new to site 70 restomod ??

Welcome to the site! there are lots of helpful folks here. I am currently working on a '70 as well, only I am starting with the drivetrain then going to chassis/suspension. So I can recommend some vendors that I have bought from. Engine: I decided to go with a 408 because a 4" stroke is about...

how well do the factory trac loc's work

When I said "no parts to wear out" in my above post, I meant no clutches to wear out. The truetrac is much more durable than any posi that relies on clutches for it to operate.

how well do the factory trac loc's work

My choice would be a "Detroit Truetrac". No additives required in the rear end grease and no parts to wear out.

    I need header help

I originally wanted hydraulic, but Bruce at Modern Driveline pushed the cable. All of the sorty headers I found were 1 5/8" primaries, and that is just not big enough for my 408. I think I will just go back to hydraulic, unless someone has a better idea.

    I need header help

My setup: '70 sportsroof, 408W, Trick Flow heads, TKO 600 trans. I require 1 3/4" primary tubes and would like to run a cable clutch. I hear that Hooker Super Comps will work, but ground clearance can be an issue. I would like to go with Ford Powertrain Applications, but they don't think theirs...

To resto-mod or Not, that is the ?

Well I did not know that. Thanks for the info Freddie. I really like the idea of not having to drill extra holes. I'm not saying anything bad about resto-mod cars at all. That is what i'm currently doing to my car. I was speaking from a resale standpoint. Almost without exception, the...

To resto-mod or Not, that is the ?

I don't know. But I do know that Total Controll Products makes a lowering block that bolts in the stock UCA holes in the shock tower but has a lower attachment point for the UCA shaft. Like getting the "Shelby" drop without drilling extra holes...

To resto-mod or Not, that is the ?

There are several upgrades that can be done to the stock suspension that will make it a great cruiser, check out Opentracker Racing Products. This will be less expensive and less involved than a strut conversion. With a '65 vert I would do as little as possible in the resto-mod department...

    Best Cleveland style heads?

I can recommend Jim Woods @ Fordstrokers.com for your stroker kit. He sells all of the Coast High Performance (Probe) stuff and has great customer service. If you are going to go with a custom cam then I HIGHLY recommend talking to Jay Allen @ Camshaft Innovations before making any decisions, he...

    Best Cleveland style heads?

I thought the exact same thing when I saw the new Chevy Nascar motor. I still don't understand why Nascar restricts the use of modern power plants IE Modular, LSX, Hemi, & I Force (or what ever Toyota uses for a V8).

    LS1 Heads on a Ford

http://460ford.com/viewtopic.php?t=18923&highlight=stock+rods I found this link yesterday. With all the aftermarket sbf heads on the market now and the custom items needed, I'm not sure he is really saving anything. What are your thoughts?

Thanks, I totally forgot about the valve stems being longer. Will get proper rocker arms with heads. Thanks again!

    Rocker arm question

Is it possible to run the older rail style rockers on aftermarket heads with guideplates? My thinking is that there will be some interferance issues, because it's never that easy. If they will not work, is it possible to modify the rail rockers to work with guideplates? I hate to sound like a...
