Any issues with bolting E7's to vintage motors?

If I wanted to spend money on heads, I would, but I've got these already, already ported by me, so buying new heads would defeat the entire purpose of this excercise.

Any issues with bolting E7's to vintage motors?

So milling the heads will take the combustion chamber volume from 64 to somewhere around 58-60cc? Hmm, startin' to sound kindy interestin' all of a sudden.

Any issues with bolting E7's to vintage motors?

Okay, sayin' I was to have the heads machined down .03", would that cause pistion to valve clearance issues with the stock valves, cam, and pistons? What about those heads on a stock 5.0L motor, assuming stock cam, heads and pistons?

Any issues with bolting E7's to vintage motors?

Well, I honestly have no interest in having the heads milled. The idea was that since I had the ported E7's laying around, that they would be a bolt-on upgrade over the stock heads. If I'd actually lose performance from that drastic of a losss in compression then it's not worth it. I just...

Any issues with bolting E7's to vintage motors?

What's the combustion chamber cc on the old heads compared to the E7's? Around 5xcc to the E7's 69cc? Damn, didn't remember that. Question remains, would the higher flow of the ported E7's compensate for the loss in compression?

Any issues with bolting E7's to vintage motors?

Just curious. I've got an extra set of E7's I've cleaned up and ported, and my aunt's 67 Fastback is perty much stock, save for the '68 302. Just wondering if the E7's will bolt on without too much hassle, and if they're worth the fuss over the stock heads. Thanks all.

    Throrrle body fuel injection

You still have the issue of having only 2 low-flow injectors to feed the motor. Even the lowliest EFI 4-banger has 4 injectors. Besides, I don't know that anyone ever made an intake for a 4-banger designed to use a 2-barrel mount like the CFI unit has. Yours will be an interesting project.

Best poly bushings for front end?

I'd say all 3 major companies, PST, Prothane, and Energy Suspension make complete kits, and are similarly priced. If you're building a street kit, you may consider calling Maximum Motorsports and talking to them about your goals, and see what they reccomend. Urethane isn't always the...

    Throrrle body fuel injection

The CFI units flow about 300-400 cfm and aren't worth crap. You'd pull until about 3000 RPM and auddenly the motor would just fall on its face. :notnice: My latest project is an '85 Mark VII that was CFI, and now has a roller MAF HO motor. :nice: Trust me, dump the CFI.

    need help guessing h.p.

Just my opinion but you should be in the 13's with those Streets. What were your 60' times? What type of control arms? As for power, that's sorta a misnomer of a question because most of your mods are suspension. It's not like in the ricer world where stickers and neons can add horsepower to...

A bunch of handling questions for the experts

Being a straight-liner an not knowing crap about carving corners, I can tell you that to keep up with most of the modern import trash out there you're looking at probably an easy grand in parts, more in labor. Figure you're going to need at least good shocks/struts, Bilstein's or Koni's, and...

PICS! Install of dedicated fuel system for Nitrous

Are there any legal issues with having a fuel tank, all be it a small one, mounted in your engine bay? I think it's a cool idea, but I've always seen the extra tanks in the trunk, not the engine bay.

    7.5 to 8.8 swap questions

Okay, I've got a complete open 7.5" assembly out of a '95, and then I've got a good deal on a 8.8" rear minus the axles with a limited alip diff and 3.73's, but it's out of a Fox. So, I've been told and have measured to prove that the axle housings are the same lengths, and that the axles are...

    Clutch pedal vibration

Okay, my sister's '95 coupe had a vibration in the clutch when it was not engaged, so as soon as you just barely put your foot on the pedal you could feel it pulsing. So, pulled the tranny, found that there was a wear pattern on the flywheel, so had the flywheel ground at a local machine shop...
