    Steering shaft hitting headers

    i have Flow tech equal shorties on mine. after i did my swap i had to heat up the header tube with mapp gas, and beat the tube in with a hammer till it cleared the steering shaft.

    Speedo troubles.

    sounds like either your not getting the cable plugged into the tranny enough or, the speedo driven gear is missing/bad inside the tranny. its kinda hard to look into that hole, but you should see another gear for the speedo cable gear to mesh with.

    they are at the wheel cylinder on each side. follow the hard line across the axle tube till it comes to the backing plate. right above or below it you will see a bleeder valve.

    prob look for a straight through style muffler rather than a chambered like flow master. super turbo comes to mind. i run edelbrock RPM series with pipes. dunno if they are still around or not. tail pipes quiet down a system.

    yes too much preload will cause vacuum issues as well, but what we are talking about full turn or less here, we are gonna be ok.

    just the VSS doing its job. check the IAC , otherwise its prob a vacuum leak. if you are stopped and blip the throttle, does it hang or come back down to normal idle? unhook the vacuum line going to the vacuum tree and check for vacuum there. are your valves adjusted properly, correct pushrods?
