What year Explorer for 9" brake swap?

Thanks 12sec! I was hoping you'd chime in. Any idea what my axle shop is talking about with needing a "ring" between my retaining plate and the bearing on the axle? Thanks for the help!

What year Explorer for 9" brake swap?

Solid, thanks a lot Decurion! Do you know if there is any significant difference from '98 and on? The axle house told me they suggest '98 and newer. The only problem is I have found about 4 '97 donors, but nothing newer. Thanks again!

What year Explorer for 9" brake swap?

Thanks Valley. Did you have to put any sort of "ring" between your axle retaining plate and axle bearing? The place that is assembly my axles said they needed to put a ring on... Sound familiar?

What year Explorer for 9" brake swap?

I have the new style big bearing housing ends on the nine inch rear and am trying to track down a junk yard for the explorer rear disc swap. From my research it looks like a 1995-2001 explorer will work. Is that correct? Also anything to look out for while doing the swap? Thanks a lot...

    Axle Decode (Ultrastang HELP?!)

I have spent about 6 hours trying to figure out my axle code and the more I look the more frustrated i get. The tag reads as follows: WES....AA......9JA 3.00......9....952A I understand it's a 9" with 3.00 gearing and am pretty sure built in 1969. I am ordering axles from Moser and want to...

Tremec T-56 and Drive Shaft Question

The shaft is exactly 44 inches from center to center of the u-joint arms attached directly to the shaft itself. I measureed by the clips that hold the joint in place, if that makes any sense... I can get other measurements if someone is willing to help. Just as clarification it's for a '67...

Tremec T-56 and Drive Shaft Question

For anyone interested, I heard back from D&D Performance and they said the drive shaft is going to be too long and will need to be shortened. Better too long than too short is what I always say. :nice: The only thing that concerns me is that D&D also said that you don't have to do any...

Tremec T-56 and Drive Shaft Question

So here's a shot in the dark... I know that there aren't many people running T-56's in their classics on the board here. I recently came across a deal on a D&D Performance T-56 kit intended for a '79-'93 Fox body that I couldn't pass up. The kit includes a couple parts I know I can't use in...

So what'd yall get for X-mas?

My wife is the best ever, didn't get mad Santa Claus (I) bought a T-56 six speed for my '67 three days before Christmas! I keep telling her as soon as the Mustang is done I'll start spending more money on her. What she doesn't quite understand is that the car will probably never be "done" :D

Fox body trans compatability with '69 block (T-56)

Thanks Rusty! I knew going into this deal the trans tunnel would need some surgery, which I am fine with doing. Good lookin out... I've seen the many other threads talking about making a T56 fit, just didn't see an answer to my original question. Now I know and as they say, knowing is half...

Fox body trans compatability with '69 block (T-56)

I emailed D&D and asked them if it will fit. I was told it will bolt up no problem. Not that I don't trust him, but would like to hear it from more than one source before I pull the trigger. That's lots of dough ya know. Can anyone confirm or disprove the fitment? THANKS :hail2:

Fox body trans compatability with '69 block (T-56)

I am looking at a used T56 trans from D&D Performance that the seller says is for a '89 Fox Body. Says the kit has everything needed to bolt up to a 302 or 351 engine and that it comes with a D&D aluminum bell housing. I have a 331 using a '69 302 block and am not very knowledgeable about...
