Axle Decode (Ultrastang HELP?!)

I have spent about 6 hours trying to figure out my axle code and the more I look the more frustrated i get.

The tag reads as follows:

WES....AA......9JA
3.00......9....952A

I understand it's a 9" with 3.00 gearing and am pretty sure built in 1969. I am ordering axles from Moser and want to tell them the right car and year for the new axles. I've taken measurement of the old axles, but nothing matches direct replacement axles I've seen. I also measured the housing and it has not been shortened.

I have a flange to end of spline measurement of 27 1/16" for one and 31 1/16" for the other axle. The housing measures 55 3/4" housing flange to housing flange and 60 7/8" with the axles in.

So what does the WES, AA, and the 952A mean?

Thanks. :hail2:

EDIT- OK I found a new page, WES-AA means it's from a Cougar or Mustang from '69 to '71

So the date is the only question that remains. THANKS!

When I ordered my custom axles from Moser, I just sent them my old 9" big bearing axles to limit confusion. Once they received the axles they call to confirm what I wanted and stuck with there two day turnaround promise.

That's a good idear... You remember how much shipping was? Did they ship the old ones back to you? I'm sure you had to pay for it if they did... Thanks.

Shipping was expensive for me as I live across country (at least that is what UPS thinks) from Moser = $49.00.

I did request my original axles back and they sent them. I forget how much it was to ship back, but it was cheaper than sending it to them.
