    Different Heads on 289

I'm close to doing my head swap on my 289. Cast stock heads to 165 AFR's. There's several things you may need. As mentioned the stepped washers most likely as many aftermarket heads come 1/2" holes and 289 is 7/16. Also would recommend some ARP 7/16 head bolts as well. Then you have...

    New wheels with disc brakes

I don't think you'll have a issue w/ the 17's. Here is pic of mine, I used the SSBC rear disc conversion and had plenty of clearance w/ the TTII's, HOWEVER i borrowed a buddies 15x7 Weld Draglites at the track and the dust shield was rubbing on the inside of the Welds and I had to take them off..

4 speed versus 5 speed trans

My vote if for the T5 for your application. I'm running a toploader 4sp in my car now w/ 3.80 gears. It's fun at the strip and I have been powershifting and seems to hold up well. Of course it's only a 13 sec car. I do have a 1993 version of the T5 that going in at some point once funds...

    Car running, key in hand.

My car did something similar to this years ago. I recall I would turn key off but motor did not what to shut off. My problem ended up being a easy fix, bad starter solenoid. Replaced it and it's been fine since..

Anyone running these adjustable motor mounts?

Thanks for the information on these. Seem like they are a nice piece then for you guys that have them. I'll have to pick some up when I pull the motor hopefully in the next few months....

    Wheel Hop..grr.

I run the clamps all the time street and track. Not sure when you mean by "slip". The clamps keep the each individual leaf from seperating under hard acceleration which can lead to axle wrap/wheelhop. The back half of the leaves do seperate as I don't have clamps there.

Anyone running these adjustable motor mounts?

This look pretty nice, just curious how they perform. They claim a 1/2" drop from stock height, side to side and front to rear adjustment. Anyone got any experience w/ them? Also I'd be concerned w/ the front to rear movement under hard lauches at the track, looks like there are 2 bolts to...

    Kids and Car shows!!!

Well, I took my 3 year old to his first car show, got him secured and all in the Stang. We had a blast, he loved hearing the engine and would say " I want to fell it " each time i made a speedy take off. Hopefully I can give him the say appreciation for our hobby that my dad gave me. We...

    Wheel Hop..grr.

Here you go, also I run 1" lowering blocks, doubt it helps wheelhop but got the stance i wanted. The Rancho shocks are great, on the street I set them on 3 which is a softer ride, at the track i just bump them up a few turns on the dial and I'm ready to make some passes, hope this helps. I got...

    Funny but True..........

Some people just don't have a clue, 2 conversations i recall. Had a young teeneger ask me one time , "Is that a 56 model" and another guy "Who did the custom work for the rear glass and body". "That would be a 65 model young fellow" and "Ford did the work, it's a fastback design....."

    Wheel Hop..grr.

I assume this a 65-73 Stang. Here's what worked and didn't work for me. Use to run old style traction bars w/ snubber, worked fine on street but had wheelhop at track. Got serious about dragging and put on some shelby style M-1 Casting underide bars w/ kyb shocks. On the street it did fine...

    First E.T.'s with new 347

Car looks great in that pic, that's a great start considering you had street tires front and back. Like as been mentioned, some D/R's on the rear. Then through some skinnes on the front to take another 30 lbs of unsprung weight out. I'd recommend some beefy rear shocks as well if you going to...

    Cheap wheels for the track

These are what i found, pretty cheap and will have most slicks that will fit in a stock wheel well for 65/66 models. Only difference is i went w/ the 4.5" b/s, i run a 26x8.5x15 M/T ET Drag, no rubbing...

Where to find a deep groove V-belt pulley for 3G swap

I assume you have the old alternator w/ v pulley on it. When i did my swap i just simply swaped the pulleys and have had zero issues w/ it.
