nope i havent installed anything since last summer, and ive changed the oil since the smell started ; the level and the oil itself was fine, i would be a little more worried if it made the smell all the time but its only when i drive it hard, any other ideas?
... literally, as the title says. i smell nothing under normal driving but when i get on it hard i smell something like a burning metallic odor (thats the only way i know how to describe it) i cant say when it started but its really worrying me, any ideas???
anybody read the fine print on those commercials yet? ill bet they reccomend changing the filter every 3-5k, with all of the full synthetics isnt the weak point the filter instead of the oil?
i must have seen a thousand of these arguements on this site, but does anybody have hard #'s to back up claims? anybody know what the 1/4 mi. time difference is b/t the 3.73's, 4.10s, and 4.30's on similarly modified cars?
Ghetto fabulous :nice:
20% everywhere but the windshield, ive driven cars with darker but i gotta roll down the windows to see out my side mirrors at night
srt4s trap higher speeds than us but run higher times, but ive beaten the new "stage 1"s with my mods although they did pull on me just barely at the very end
theres a post above about the kumhos, summary is they SUCK, on the other hand thats a pretty good price, if you could talk them into different tires you'd be set
i used to have kumhos on my car and took them off when they were only half worn, i feared for my life, i got sideways going 70mph on the highway just out of the blue, i will never own kumhos again, i got my nitto 555's and never looked back
in theory cant these high end synthetic oils (amsoil, mobil1) go for 25000 miles with regular filter changes? id never try it but amsoil claims this i believe, which reminds me 5k is coming up quick time to change mine
anything that would destroy a carbon fiber ds would do the same to an aluminum one, cf is stronger than steel and lighter than aluminum, the only drawback is the cost
amen. they'll never know the difference, and if they are into mustangs enough to know then they probably wont care, i got the pc for the sound and b/c its a little quieter but the psudo-cat is a definite plus
13.99?? i guess the guy i raced a couple of weeks ago couldnt drive at all, 98 cobra lt headers and a couple of other things and i embarassed him, didnt even wanna talk afterwards
anyone else notice the claim that the new cobra would pull over 1G??? im gonna go out on a limb here and call :bs: somehow i dont think the cobra is gonna be able to out handle an enzo. seems too good to be true, sounds like hes telling us what we want to here, but i hope im wrong
most straight through muffs have a perforated steel tube surrounded by sound deadening material, so when at idle the sound is quieter than most chambered mufflers b/c some air and sound escapes through the holes in the tube and is absorbed by the insulation, but at wot the flow is faster and...
u pretty much have to build the engine if u go turbo, the weakest kits give u 400 hp, although ive heard of mustangs going over 500hp with stock internals, its probably not a good idea, try here bunch of good info on turbos for stangs
i usually bring up the dynomax, and it usually gets ignored, not a lot of dynomax fans on here for some reason, but they make a good exhaust, as he said theres no drone and they make power on the same level as the borlas and magnaflows
the flowmasters are gonna drone, just about all chambered performance mufflers will, the borlas and magnaflows will have little or no drone, be quieter, and make more power, but u pay for it
are they worth it? and are they as big of a PITA to install as the long tubes, cuz i DON'T wanna drop my k-member or jack up my engine, and to me one of the only advantages of shorties would be ease of install, along with the price. I havent seen any dyno #'s on these yet so anyone with them...
