    I'm the proud new owner

'68 fast back - Sweeeet!! Best thing is get it going first (as you stated), I have found mostly cleaning and small parts get it back so its looking real good, and also makes you feel good. Getting it driveable is the best as you can slowly move forward a project at a time. No money for seats...

    Grille

Or headlights c/w rings (probably smaller than the ones on the fenders) for a Shelby-look.

Help - No more vacuum... that sucks??

 Time to do the brakes on '65 coupe (6cyl) and I want to keep drum/drums but want to put a power master cylinder. I have the master cylinder but have no more vacuum lines available. The ones on the bottom of the carb are two small and - from a post earlier about the vacuum advance on the...

Did you try the Mustang Shop in Calgary?? I was buying some mirrors for my '65 and they were talking about a used wing they had brought in. That was about two months ago though.

    Crank case oil catch cans???

Bow to the vintage racers :hail2: I'll be there one day (volunteer for now) and hopefully with this '65 coupe project I have my eye on down the street. Related question to the above... would such an animal be practical (or a simpler version) for a stock but dressed up I6 that I drive to work...

    Bucket + headrest seats in a '66?

The bullitt seats are best I've seen. Price... won't happen for me. Has anyone tried those bolt on head rest kits?? The head rest looks goofy but what if you used the same idea and used a nice looking headrest (later Capri/ Mustang or even some Hondas have nice ones) and painted the vinyl to...

Is it common to re-torq head??

Thanks all. I printed this and now about to set out on the journey. I'll re-torque this weekedn and then let you know. My gut feeling is that I will be doing that head over again. I should have asked before I did the job... but which gaskets are the best to use??

Is it common to re-torq head??

Did a head gasket on my '65 6 cyl two weekends ago and though a pain in the #$@# it was successfull. Compression came back, all leaks gone, sounded better, more power.... Now it leaking again, and it feels as if power is down. Can you re-torq the head again? Does this affect the gasket or is...

Two 67 Fastbacks for under 20K?? Worth Reading!!

Thanks for alerting us (me). I have never bid on ebay for cars and now am VERY leery. A road tip to look and buy that special car even halfway across the country always makes for a better "how I got it" story anyway.

Anyone else had this many problems with there stang?

I thought I had a "trouble-free" '65 as I needed a daily driver and this was my ONLY form of transportation - wife needs the mini-van. I paid $5000 which was a lot for me and I thought about another $1000 would take care of misc items that I would need for the summer. Well - I have driven it to...

    Front bumper mods

I don't own one yet but have had similar thoughts... Is there anything close that might work? I remember when I was a kid I saw in an old van magazine how they cut a fiberglass spoiler in half and lengthened it to fit the width of the van. Could the same thing be applied to a more...

Mustang II, a Forgotten American Icon

Obviously you guys on this site know... but I really think the $ value of the II's will be going up over the next five years - too many getting crushed or abused. Besides your own if you have one... when was the last time you saw a Cobra II or a King Cobra on the road that is relatively...

    Mustang II's at Pick-a-Part Calgary

Went there at lunch and saw three in there - obviously someone else did too cause half the stuff is gone but there is a few fenders, hoods, small parts, tailights, ect.. might be worth a trip if you need some small things I looking for the whole car myself....

    Head Gasket help needed!!

I only wish it was an 8... but it does pull pretty good and is a blast to drive. The local speedshop says when its time to go for the engine rebuild, its a cam, header, and an Offy manifold, leave the six in there!! I like his thinking!! Any 6 cyl gurus out there??

Oh Yeah, If it is the rings then why would it leak out the back of the head?? Or are you suggesting it is gasket AND rings!!Thanks. BB
