    How much oil does a 2.3 take?

    I just changed the oil in my kids 1992 2.3 and it took 6 quarts to bring it up to the full mark, does this seem right? I would expect it to take 5 with a filter change. The engine is all original and stock. Thanks, Dan

    Do a lot of research first, a friend of mine went thru 4 302-351s in his boat project before he figured out there were major differences in the marine engine like balance, pistons in backwards depending on rotation, cams etc. You are probably better off trying to just freshen up the one you have...
