Going to the track this weekend!!!

Yeah, they look pretty much like that Paul. Not as bad though. Yours look like 180* of the valve hit the piston. Mine is more like 90*. I would imagine the seats need some work. Would that change the exhaust port cc's? I think I may get the parts from Ed, but have them installed...

Going to the track this weekend!!!

Popped the heads off this morning. Looks like a popped all the exhaust valves into the pistons. So... What exhaust valves? I can prolly do the work myself? Should I replace the springs? I'm glad I didn't retard the cam like I was thinking this spring. The exhaust valves would...

Going to the track this weekend!!!

Got it torn down to the heads in a couple hours. But I have to go to work now. I should get a ps puller and balancer puller tomorrow and get the heads off. Hopefully the shortblock isn't trashed. Jake

Going to the track this weekend!!!

Well, no easy way to say this, but I blew it up. On the third pass I powershifted right into second gear. Hit the rev limiter and the car shut down. Prolly bent all the valves. I'll tear into it tomorrow. The car was definitley going to go strong this weekend though. I walked it out of...

I would just sell the cam with the specs available. I've seen that on the corral all the time. Just have the interested persons email you for specs. Jake

    throttle body theory??

I think JP's results are very convincing. kg/hr is the mass (kg) of air flowing through the MAF. An engine is a glorified air pump. The more air pumped through it, the more power it is making. Jake

What PCV valve to run on a blown car?

Here's the deal I picked up. You can find it at Wal-Mart or Northern in the air compressor section. Jake

What PCV valve to run on a blown car?

I got the 2.3 turbo PCV which looks like the one above. I also got a "catch can." Fit together real nice and works well! Allan- What do you mean the black plastic piece comes off? Are you talking about the second hook up above the rubber hose? If so, that doesn't come off. It's all one...

What PCV valve to run on a blown car?

Is this like a catch can? I tried putting a plastic 3/8" fuel filter in the PCV line, but I think the underhood temps are a little too much for the plastic casing of the fuel filter. It seemed to catch the oil while it was there though. I'm trying to think of more ideas to solve this...
