    Brakes w/o booster?

Buddy just sent me this link: http://www.hotrodheaven.com/tech/brakes/brakes3.htm As I won't be seeing much manifold vacuum (quite the opposite! ) in my new build I'll have to be this or Hydratech. Don't want to be bothered with power steering so I'll just have to try it out I guess...

    Brakes w/o booster?

Hmm that's what I thought. I have driven a 3400lb NASCAR (they have no PB) and combined with the rock hard clutch you really get your exercise! Not for a "daily driver" exactly.

    NASCAR style belt drive, where?

I want to run a NASCAR style cog belt (or Gilmer drive) accessory drive on my new motor and have only come up with this one from Jegs, P/N 746-PC2254...

    Brakes w/o booster?

http://www.cncbrakes.com/sra.asp?grp=sra&subgrp=d&series=240&subseries= NPD has them in the catalog. Says that you don't need a power brake booster? I like the dual cylinder bias adjustability, but exactly why is a booster not needed? Will I need half the pedal pressure of an...

Opinions: R302, Dart, World or Boss

122lb block = paperweight? Sarcasm... Sorry, my preconceived euro opinion on big blocks. Didn't notice it was an aluminum one! Did I ever open a can of worms on the Boss stroker issue. :nonono: Anyway its going to go the R302 route.

Hmmm, probably why no builder I've talked to wants to use the Boss block. Anyway, so far it's going to be a R302. Snakepilot: nice paperweight! ;) This is for a track car so it has to take turns well. Big blocks definitely not an option.

Opinions: R302, Dart, World or Boss

Ford recommends max 3.4" stroke on the Boss, bore to 4.125. R302 will go to 4.185 bore so a 363 with 4.125 is in the plans  The R302 can be had as low as $1650 so comes out as the cheapest by a little. This will be around 650hp in street trim, but with single or possibly twin turbo...

So, about to have a new motor built. Personal experience only includes stock and FRPP 315W Sportsman. For a 8.2" deck based 331-363 there are several choices at about the same price: FRPP R302 FRPP Boss Dart Sportsman World Products Man O'War (fine product, but the name sucks!) This is...

    Milodyne bushings, worse than poly.

Dump the rubber/poly! Just went to solid strut rod (Rosehill Performance). End of squeaks and much nicer run into the corners under braking.

    Help: Anyone with Cobra brakes

M10x1,5 or 3/8-16 it seems. Had me confused a bit as 3/8-16 comes out to OD9.52 x 1.59 - close to the metric but no cigar... The metric ones are easy but I've had trouble finding the course 3/8: they usually all carry 3/8-24. National Parts Depot has them in red ano p/n 380086-SAK.

    Alt. 1st & 2nd gears in a C4?

Yeah, same here. Talked to Lentech and it seems they offer a "close ratio" AOD/4R70 that they don't list in the catalog. 2.18 1st , 1.38 2nd , 1:1 3rd and .67 o/d. I'm not too sure about the O/D and my torque though?

    Alt. 1st & 2nd gears in a C4?

Oh, forgot to mention that the current gears are 2.46:1 1st gear 1.46:1 2nd gear 1:1 3rd gear 650-700 Hp Max

    Alt. 1st & 2nd gears in a C4?

An odd question: I roadrace my Mustang with a JW Performance C4 with manual reverse valvebody and a Pro Ratchet shifter. I use the C4 as a poor mans sequential box, so far without ruining anything, and with the shifter relocated back, left and up it's really sweet and fast. 3rd is perfect for...

Global West vs Control Freak Suspension

I saw a bit of rubbing on the control arm with 17x8 and 4.5" BS too. Only when turning as tight as it went (parking etc), never while driving. Current 18x8.25 are NP.
