    roller rockers

Just to let you know, the roller rockers have nothing to do with your cobra intake at all. I am not sure what you mean by, "i want to get a set of 1.7rr's for my new cobra intake." The stock valve covers will work, all you might have to do is remove the oil baffle on the passenger side. My...

    Piston to Valve Clearance Question

The only real way to determine it is by measuring. I know it sucks, but there is no way to be sure of what kind of clearance you have, especially if you do not have stock pistons/valves. What kind of heads do you have, I am sure someone will know what size valves they are. I know a lot of people...

Looking at my cam card, couple of questions

Dude, you guys kick ass. You seem to know an answer to anything I ask. I never thought of doing the clay method without the gasket and then compensating for it. That's a good idea. I think I will do Mouse's method, but the clay method is sounding good too. So the minimum clearance is .080"...

Looking at my cam card, couple of questions

I am not sure if I follow exactly what you are saying Michael. Where exactly are you measuring then if you don't have the rockers on? I planned on doing it just like Mouse's page shows where you take the spring off, keep the rocker on, and use a feeler guage to see what my clearance is. With the...

Looking at my cam card, couple of questions

No need to start another thread. I was reading up on the methods of checking p/v clearance. The drop valve seems so easy, so why would I bother with having to take off the heads and having to retorque them multiple times to do the clay method? I figure the main reason why the drop valve method...

M.M. or Global West Subframe connectors?

I may just be partial to MM myself since I plan on getting that, but it definitely looks like a quality piece to me. I was planning on the standard length, since they look good, and have the seat brace, but then I figured I could just wait a little bit and get the full length. Do they still have...

What temp thermostat do you run?

True an engine running cooler is better than an engine overheating, but if it is constantly running too cool, your computer will never come out of closed loop, or where it is in some sort of choke mode. You won't get very good gas mileage if it never heats up some. That's why the 160 degree...

    New Track Times

Stock auto with only exhaust? That's not bad at all. It may not be the times that you are looking for, but it is respectable. I have seen a lot worse with more mods then what you have. I would get some gears and a shift kit, that will really wake up the car, and it will slam it into gears like...

    Grinds into 2nd gear

Do you still have the stock clutch quadrant on it? If so you could pull up on the clutch pedal itself and listen to hear if it clicks. That might help a little. Also, you have to realize that the tranny fluid has been sitting all winter. Let it warm up a bit, and I bet the shift will be a lot...

    Intake Gasket Question

More than likely you will be able to reuse that gasket again, there is no coolant that goes through there, so you should be fine. Just take off the upper sometime during the day before the auto stores close, just incase you need to get one.

    Putting stock h-pipe back on...

Thanks, that what I thought. I wonder why the studs got stuck in the stock h-pipe then??? I think one or two of them broke as well. Oh well, guess I will just have to check it out this weekend. Thanks again.

What temp thermostat do you run?

I run a 180 degree with no problems at all. Either that or the stock 195 degree would be a good choice.

    Putting stock h-pipe back on...

I have to put the stocker back on this weekend so I can go get my inspections/emissions done(just visual). When I took off the old pipe, I broke a few studs i believe, which didn't bother me much since I was installing full exhaust anyway. There seemed to be studs at all connections if I...

    electric fan install

Mike, which one did you buy? Can it be used with any electric fan, say a taurus fan or a mark viii fan? Could you send me the pics at [email protected] Thanks

new shorties and the oil dipstick...

I thought with the stock headers, the dipstick tube was on one of the studs? When I changed my headers, I didn't use any studs and put bolts in. I just held the tube in place(where it came off the stud), and tightened away. Stays there just fine.

    Do you believe this??

Wow, I would believe the 620 miles. That thing is in mint condition. Looks very clean to me. Look at the engine bay, the interior, and undercarriage pics, not a spot on them. It is easy to keep the exterior of a car clean, but not so easy for everything else. Very clean car.

Looking at my cam card, couple of questions

Wow, tons of info right there. Mike, yes it is the XE270HR, I didn't know if I should come out and say it right away, in case some of these specs were supposed to be hidden from other peoples view. I went to the website and still cannot find the valve event timing at .050". It had even less info...
