    Painting intake manifold question

I just took a piece of paper towel, wadded it up, and stuffed em in all the little holes. Then used masking tape for the runners.

aluminum vs iron, heads for a street combo

afr 165s ftw. Can't really go wrong with most aluminums tho.

Why does it take our cars so long to warm up?

My setup now runs borderline needing a 160 t-stat in the hottest days of summer, and now with it being 30-40 degrees I can fire it up, drive around 8 miles to school, and the needle barely budge. Air still blows cold too.

    Whats on your xmas lists???

Just asking for cash. I know exactly what I want for christmas, and I don't expect anyone to buy me a bottle kit for christmas so I'm just gonna combine what I get and go for that and use part of what I saved and my bday money for mickeys.

Question for the younger Fox guys (22-)

I view the fox as a middleground between the classics and the new school stuff. It has the computer along with newer features, but it is a lot simpler, and still carries a dizzy along with an old school heart. It's also an easy car for someone with not a lot of experience with motors to really...

    MAC headers?

Mac headers fit my e7 heads absolutely perfect. Once the bolts go through the heat cycles and stay tight, there were absolutely no leaks at all. They fit my afrs very tight though. I still can't complain though, they just fight the new heads. Next time the come off it's gonna be longtube...

Going to the bottle soon, have some questions

Theres a guy local to me with a new zex kit with purge kit, pressure gauge, and something else can't remember but all I would need is a bottle heater and some jets to change it over for a v8 motor according to the zex people for 350 bucks. I believe I'm gonna jump on it. Would the zex people...

What is the average age on stangnet 5.0 talk?

Turning 20 in less than a month, grew up around a shop but never got heavy into cars until after the first shop was sold and I turned 14, started looking at cars, then looked at some fast **** and was like wow. My aunt had my stang since new, rode home from school in it since elementary. Car...

Going to the bottle soon, have some questions

Ouch. Didn't know the timing needed to go back that much. Something like that would be nice to have a tweecer for.

Going to the bottle soon, have some questions

I've done decided the car is getting the gas this winter, probably around christmas time. Not sure whether I should run wet or dry, what would be best? The car has 24lb injectors with a 190 fuel pump for fuel mods, then a 10:1 comp 306 with h/c/i. I plan to start out with a 50 shot and would...

How much trouble to rebuild a t5?

How much did that run you? Will the tranny hold a lot more power? As far as ratios if anything taller gears would be a lot better for the car or put a less aggressive rear end gear in it since 4th gear is all but done in the 1/4 now. If I go to spray it'll be in 5th quick.

How much trouble to rebuild a t5?

I guess the only way to see whats wrong is tear her apart and see what she needs. I'll put her on the racks one weekend after christmas and see whats up.

How much trouble to rebuild a t5?

I may get to it then. I'm fixing to pretty much retire the car for nice weekends only since once it gets cold, the salts gonna hit the roads and the jeeps gonna get full time duty. Going to the bottle around new years also, so somethings gonna give, and the tranny is the weak link in my...

When cruising, or daily driving...what rpms do you shift at?

Anywhere between 2500-to over 5k depending on traffic, mood, and what gear I'm in. I don't really try to conserve gas with the car anymore. It just doesn't help it at all, so why not have some fun with her.

    5.0 oil pump drive shaft

If you lose the washer, jiggle your dizzy before you yank it out to try and break the shaft loose. There suppossed to go in from the bottom with the oil pan off. Myn wouldn't go with the washer so I ripped it off, got lucky that I didn't drop her in the pan and got my car timed in.

How much trouble to rebuild a t5?

Debating on whether to upgrade my tranny or just tear it apart and fix the synchros or put a stronger gear set in it. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, dad owns a professional shop, then I go to school for machining should I need something from that area. Would I still be batting out of my...

    who's running MAC shorties?

I ran the mac shorties on my e7 heads and the fit perfect. Just keep a tab on your bolts.. My afrs fit them a little different though, even though they still work.

    50 vs z28

I took a a4 ls1 out on the highway from 50mph kicks with rpm, gears, full exhaust, 65 tb, 70 maf, cai, and some hard ass driving. 1st kick was a half car, 2nd was a car to the top of 4th. That setup ran a 13.8 with a 2.0 60', had more in it, but never got it down. 8.7 @ 81 (I think 1/8th...

    FOX Body Daily Drivers Advice

Most my car ever got was around 19 city and 23 on highway. I do drive it hard though. With the mods now, 14-16/16-19 tops. As far as a DD, be careful in the rain with it. I've never driven in the snow so I don't know, and since I have a cj7 now I sure as hell ain't gonna find out.

Help me pick my H/C/I Combo.

AFR 165s is a good head choice. I believe the stock afr springs will work with a b cam just fine. Intake, probably an eddy rpm or tfs track heat intake. You need somethin a little bigger than a regular performer or street heat for the afrs. 24lb injectors also feed mine just fine along with...
