Would like you oppinion on tires, pls.

Just my $0.02, but if you still have the half vinyl roof and opera windows on your ghia, then I'd avoid white letter tires. They just dont jive with the formal lines. With a full vinyl roof, they'd maybe look ok if you have a racy colour on the car. In my opinion, best bet for a ghia is...

    Defroster Problem

Your heater core is the likely suspect. When it leaks, anti-freeze is picked up by the hot air and blown onto your windshield. If your windshield has a greasy film on the inside, that's the problem. Good luck.

    Exploding question...

As I recall from several of the court cases from back in law school, some of the exploding pinto problems were due to the gas tank sliding over and against the back of the integral carrier axle housings which had a bolt-on cover on the back. In these cases, plaintiffs' attorneys provided...

    Oil pressure guage

Does anyone here know of another 70's Ford car or truck that had an oil pressure guage similar in look and style to the Mustang II's amp, fuel and temp guages. If such a creature exists, I'd like to take part of an old dashpanel and cut/paste it into another panel to make a factory looking oil...

    Stumpy's Traction Bars

I've installed a set of his bolt-on subframe connectors and they were flawless. Perfect fit. If he does go ahead with the traction bars, you can bet I'll be one of his first customers. :hail2:

can anyone post a pic of the turbine rims

Are those 14 or 15 inch rims (on your car) and what cars had them as stock?

    New dash for the Ghia

Well, the "manage attachments" window says the pic is posted but I can't see where. What gives?

    New dash for the Ghia

Here's a shot of the latest mod to the Ghia convertible project. I got the steering wheel but didn't like the way it looked with the burled walnut dash so I made some new overlays out of mahogony veneer to match the steering wheel. What do you think? p.s. that's a clock on the passenger...

    something about the 2005 mustang

The fake gas cap is cheesy but overall I think they did a great job on the styling- roofline kinda looks like a II...

    Filling holes

Paste over them with lots of speed stickers like the ricers do. :D I'd try the JB Weld if you're on a budget. You can always weld them shut later if that doesn't work.

    side scoops

I had a set from Tony Branda on my old Ghia for years- stuck on with double sided tape. They were open in front and never blew off. As for functionality, I have a custom set on my Cobra which are functional. Just for kicks, I ran the air tubing into the car so I could feel how much air it...

    Black centered caps ?

Hmmm... sure looks stock. They would look great on a set of argent 4spoke wheels if you could find 3 more.

    Black centered caps ?

Sounds like 80's fox stang "turbine" wheelcover center. Someone may have swapped the insert. BTW, how is that spinner project going?

    Driveshaft Length

Thanks guys. I'm wondering if I can use a Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft on my Ghia. It has a center to center of 43.5 inches From what I can find, the stock v8 4spd shaft was 45.64, which if you shorten 1" for the t5 would make 44.64, meaning that the Ford Racing shaft would be just over...

    Driveshaft Length

I know this subject was beat to death a while back but I can't seem to find the old thread. Does anyone have the length (u-joint center to ujoint center) for a v8 driveshaft using a t5 with the MII bellhousing?

    v-6 to v-8 swap

You can use the 6cyl wiring harness with the v8, but you'll have to add some extra wire to run to the distributor in the front of the v8 as opposed to the back of the v6. Also, the tach will need an adapter module in order to read correctly. Good luck.

    Subframe Connectors

I purchased a set of bolt on subframe connectors from the Illinois fellow on ebay (he also sells them off the .net site). Absolutely perfect fit. The hardest part was fitting my drill around the exhaust pipes to drill the holes in the front frame sections. A right angle drill would have...

    Possible source for Ghia emblems?

Thanks for the info. I might try and snag them anyway since they're going on my far from stock Ghia convertible.

    Possible source for Ghia emblems?

Does anyone know if the ones used on Panteras are the same as used on the Mustang II Ghia's? http://www.precisionproformance.com/ep1075.htm If so, $48.00 isn't too bad considering they are apparently new emblems.

    Lowered Front end

I picked them up at a swap meet so I can't say if they were cut, heated, or just made that way. On my V8 Ghia, they dropped the front a good 1.5-2.0 inches. I had been running 205/70/14s, which is pretty tall and they rubbed pretty hard when making sharp turns. Those wheel/tires had a...
