    I believe CDC has the lock down on that piece. I though they made a smooth one. Well, scuff it up with Scotchbrite, and get out the flat black. Use lots of thin coats.

    Always mark everything before dealing with timing chains. It sounds like you got it fixed though. You found TDC, positioned the cams where they should be when at TDC, then put the chain on. I don't see much of a problem.

    My car vs. 300C

    Regardless of the race, 300C's don't inspire fear in me. If it is an SRT8 300C, then I think about it. I ran against an SRT8 on an open track night, and it was a solid 14.00 car. I could see maybe a high 13 with the right conditions. I hear of SRT8's even faster, but I am not sure.

    Those LT1 cars are deceptively quick. My uncle had a stock '95 Formula with auto trans, and that thing was a low 14 car. His stock '00 T/A with auto ran 13.9's. The main thing you got going is the gears. I don't see why you couldn't beat him. You probably won't be pulling a bunch of car lengths...

    Ran into a problem with Bullitt manifold

    It's best just get new valve covers. I don't think you could cut a hole in the left side. Maybe you could take of the tube. Figure out a way to make the oil cap sit on top of the filler boss. I don't know.

    Rant about cable hi-speed internet

    I hear bad things about satellite. I heard it is slow and the signal is sketchy at times. I am looking into FIOS, but not sure it is in my area yet. If anybody has to get satellite internet, look into wireless first.

    My dad has the same service in Georgia. His will act up every so often, but is normally pretty good. His will sometimes go down to a crawl and be really slow, but it picks up again. I think for this area Comcast is not the ideal choice. That is why DSL is nice. No sharing.
