Hello everyone,
Is CDC the only manufacturer of the “Heritage” or “Honeycomb panel for the 99-04 Mustang? The prices seem to hold steady at $160-$180. You would think there would be some other company with a better price for the part since it is only injection molded plastic. Anyone know of any other place that has it cheaper?

Thank in advance

Sorry I dont have an answer for you. I think CDC is the only company that makes them. I want a blackout panel for the rear of my 03 Mach, but I wish someone made one that wasnt a honeycomb texture, just a plain old, smooth, flat black panel.

I didn't realize the combs were that deep. Well, I learned how to vacuum form small plastic parts for models. I don't think I could do big pieces, but you if you're determined it's not complicated. The mold would be near impossible to build. Or you could get an extra decklid in your color, then paint those areas black. That would be cool.

I know on ebay they make a vinyl piece that is smooth. Not sure on its quality though

My pieces are comparable to those, yet mine are half the price, and are better vinyl. Here's a few i've made and installed:

They're $27 shipped with 5 year vinyl, matte or gloss black. I've sold 83 of them so far on two different forums. PM me for more details. :nice:

I wonder how that would look on a white gt. I've been looking into the honeycomb panels and I personally think they look a little out of place depending on the exterior color of the car.

What do they do to the paint under them? Also do you have any pics of the matte finish? The pics above all look glossy.

thanks

They do nothing to the paint. If anything they protect it from the sun.

I don't have any matte pics, not a single person who bought a matte kit has sent me pics of it installed!

The rear honeycomb panel originally came on the '99 35th anniversary Mustang, so Ford is a supplier. I beleive each of the three peices is about $20-25 from Ford. No idea of the part numbers however.

CDC makes it as well, with a Mach 1 version, but Ford should still have the stock GT one. They have to make parts for 10 years, so you should be good until 2009

Nope, ford discontinued them.

So I'm guessing you just remove the emblems and install the vinyl. I might have to pick one of these up just to see since that honeycomb panel can look look cheap while it costs ~$170.

even under collision parts? If not then they are violating the law. They are required to carry parts for 10 years.

If they do have them under collision, they are prob $300 or so :(
