    Foxbody motor mount hierarchy

I just called ES and they claim their motor mount height is the exact same as the stock hatch/notch mounts. But he was also unaware that prothanes are taller than stock… So….

    Foxbody motor mount hierarchy

Trying to figure out the fox body motor mount hierarchy… According to the sticky, the prothane unit is .5” taller than the Energy suspension unit and reading elsewhere the stock hatch/notch mount is .5-.75” taller than the stock vert unit. How do the aftermarket units compare to the...

    Motor mount height

I have the "taller" Prothane motor mounts on my car and need to drop the engine down about .5-1" for hood clearance. I was just planning on picking up a set of the energy suspension units, but then I notidiced the PS hardline running to the rack is less than .25" from the oil pan as is, if I...

Okay turbo people, chime in on this!

Hmmm, there seems to be a little confusion on turbos in this thread, and it is sounding like some background research is needed to pick up some of the fundamentals. I recommend going pick up Corky Bell’s “Maximum boost” turbo book. It really doesn’t get heavily into all the technical...

Okay turbo people, chime in on this!

thats good for the calculations, but when you actualy build it, don't pick out your head gaskets untill you assembly the shortblock, otherwise you are just throwing dice as to what your actual quench clearance is, and trust me you want to nail that down.

what were your numbers and limits? ASSuming nothing is majorly wrong, and you don't have a really rough cam in there, it is pretty easy to pass without any emmissions equipment at all.

    New Engine Bay Picture

Keep in mind by the time you get your stock crank turned and buy aftermarket rods (it’s cheaper than “fixing” your old rods) to go along with your new pistons it costs about the same as a decent entry level stroker kit. No reason to go 331 unless you are limited by class racing rules or...

    To All You Nay Sayers!!!!!

By following Bernoulli’s principal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernoulli's_principle While the angling the insert is important, to really get it right you want to place the insert in the low pressure region of a venturie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venturi_effect...

    To All You Nay Sayers!!!!!

It is crucial that they are placed in a low pressure point in the exhaust system, other wise it will not pull a vacuum. The better placement you have the more vacuum you will pull. Your engine will last longer and make more power if you have a little vacuum in the crankcase rather than pressure.
