    Food for Thought

I feel my main problem with this hobby isn't throwing tons of $$ at a poorly planned project, it's the lack of $$ I DO have.

suggestions for removing tar like substance from floors

I used a drill attachment from 3M for my undercarriage. It's a stripper wheel made for just such an application. Sorta looks like a "scotch-brite" pad.

    Squeaky front suspension

It's more than likely the poly bushings. I change my fronts back to rubber after living with the squeaks for a year. Try squirting some WD-40 on the bushings and taking a drive. If that eliminates the noise, you know where your problem lies.

How do you deal with the nonstop car problems?

It the nature of the beast. Any vintage car you use as a daily driver will nickle and dime you to death. If your not willing to deal with the trials of owning a classic as primary transportation, you have a couple of choices. 1) Sell it 2) purchase a beater, and tinker an your convenience...

Is this car really worth this much?

IMHO, rare means nothing without style. Something that this car lacks. (Just never been interested in the 70's + coupes.) I agree with pabear, gimmie a Shelby any day of the week!! :)

Want your glovebox autographed by Caroll Shelby?

I agree with 69PaleHorse. I too have my glove box door signed. I admire the guy for what he's done for the automotive world. Yes my car is a Shelby clone, (I can barely afford a clone) but I present it as such.

    light rear end got me

That doesn't look too bad. Just look at it as a reason to get some body work experience. You could get it ready for paint with basic hand tools in no time.

    new gears whine

Well thanks for all your input. I guess I'll drive, and hope the break-in period quites them some. If not, oh well I have very little $$ in the gear swap. I can live with a little whine. Thanks for all your input.

    new gears whine

Hey are indeed Richmond gears. I bought them from a Nascar team that opted not to use them. THis could account for the noise I suppose?? (Being a heavy duty set) Any thoughts? TIA

    new gears whine

I just had a new ring and pinion installed. I got the 3rd member back from the speed shop, put it back together, and went for a drive. I now notice a low whine/roar at low speeds (i.e. slowing for a light.) Is this a big deal as I have no problems otherwise. What gives??
