    Update:Overheating problem!

Just turned on the car, let it warm up a bit, and drove it a couple of miles. Came back and popped open the hood to see it leak still underneath. Fixing to go out again to see if it finally dripped onto the driveway. I didn't bother to take off the bypass hose last Sat. which main it a real...

    Update:Overheating problem!

This one is just a copper brass 3 core. If all goes well with school, next fall I will have to upgrade my whole cooling system, suspension, drivetrain for the plans I have for the car.

    Update:Overheating problem!

Just a while ago, there was a good size puddle of antifreeze in my driveway. Turned on the car the I could see antifreeze leaking from the bottom of t-stat housing. I manage to tighten the bottom bolt up since it was a little loose. Hopefully, just hopefully that will do it. I was wondering why...

    E/T Streets

I once borrowed my friends 26x11.50 for one pass. The track prep sucked and ppl were spinning badly. I launched at 4500rpm, and was rewarded with a 1.96 60'ft. The psi was at 15#s, my first mistake was the burn out. I did it in 1st gear for maybe 3-5 seconds(should have done a 2nd gear burn out...

First time at the track in the Stang...

Guess I'll try for 20psi. Usually do 25psi. I'll just have to wait sometime. J.R.

Post your mods and the best E.T./mph

Check sig. Times are from last fall. Just off-road h-pipe, flows, and 3.73s. All stock 225 horses still there. Keep in mind the elevation here. Usually 4000-5000ft with bad air during the fall. Now I had a tune up in June and it feels like it runs like a beast now. Waiting to get some good...

First time at the track in the Stang...

I think the times are pretty good. It is capable of mid-low 13s. Kinda off topic, couple of weekends ago at the track, I raced a 87-93 GT. On his street radials, he lowered the pressure to 15#s! My buddy and I were wondering how he was hooking good with street tires. I guess desperate times...

    Update:Overheating problem!

Before:My stang would run 210* normally w/o AC and 212* with AC on. Problem: End of May, car started overheating to 210*-215 w/o AC in city and sometimes 215*-220 on the highway. WITH AC on, would rise to 230* before I turned it off. Now: Saturday installed a HD 3-core radiator(Lifetime...

    $1400, what now?

It seems like my front brakes are the ones locking up, but I can't really tell unless someone were to look at me slam on the brakes. I maybe overstating the braking issue, but with these Lubbock drivers here is scares me to have to depend on the brakes to come to a complete stop. I may order new...

    $1400, what now?

Yeah, the top 3 starts off with most concern to least. I think I might just hold off on #3 until I do the whole suspension, bracing, and motor later on down the road. I think I might just upgrade the whole cooling system...radiator, electric fan, and a new water pump while I'm at it. As for...

    $1400, what now?

I already spent $850 on a Dell yesterday instead of my car :nonono: I just need my mustang to get me around for another year til I become an RN, then I could spend some money on the motor, etc. What suggestions do you have for me with around $1400? The mustang is my daily driver, car has around...

    Overheating to 230*!!!

Well, this early afternoon as I was driving here to my hometown the temp was around 208* w/o the AC. Temp outside was low 80s. I turn on the AC for about 10 minutes before I got into town and it got up to 212* at the most. I already plan on doing something about the motor, I plan on saving up...

    Overheating to 230*!!!

I am going out of town Sat. morning for Father's Day and coming back Sunday afternoon, so I'll check out the temp with the AC on once I'm on the road, and yes it's been pretty hot. Around 95-105 lately. We'll have to see how it goes this weekend.

    Overheating to 230*!!!

I haven't thought about the fan clutch, but I will look into it this weekend. I also would like to put in a electric fan and maybe even a new radiator sometime. J.R.

    Overheating to 230*!!!

Factory T-stat is on now. I already have a 180*, just waiting for a good weekend to flush the cooling system and put on the new T-stat. Factory everything, nothing has been done to the motor, but a rebuilt some 50K+mile ago. Cruising in city now w/o AC is 210-212*, with AC, climbs slowly to...

    Overheating to 230*!!!

I'll check back later. I'm at work. If not, will use the internet this weekend, so let's get some replies. Thanks. Nothing like having Stangnet around when you need them. J.R.

    Overheating to 230*!!!

Ok, it has never done this before. I use to cruise with the AC on and it would only get to 212*. Without AC, 210*. Well, about a month til now it gets up to 230 if I leave the AC on. Last Friday I just had new plugs, wires, dist. cap, rotor, tuning on the stang b/c it was missing bad. Mechanic...

Finally ran my car, tell me if this is good/bad

That explains it. On street tires, I have have some good 60' times like my best of 2.12, 2.15, 2.20, 2.19. I usually just lower the tire pressure to 25psi and inflate my fronts to 40-45psi. Coming off the line, I feather the gas pedal, then floor it. I need to see what I have my timing at...

Finally ran my car, tell me if this is good/bad

Not bad at all. The mph is high enough for low 14s. I've been to the track twice this year and ran a best of 15.3 @ 89mph with O/R h-pipe, flow(dumped), 3.73s where the track elevation is 3300 ft above sea level and that night the density altitude was 5696 ft!! I think it converts to 14.5-14.7...
