    update on 66 minitub

Nice work! I really like the way the flair looks, like it could have come out of the factory that way. Very cool. I will look forward to seeing more pictures as you fit the tire/wheel, and get the car on the ground. It's amazing the amount of stupid little details that can make or break...

In a 66, does a set of 65 motor mounts drop the engine at all?

There are two different styles of V8 '65 mounts. K code and standard. If using the standard mounts two things (besides what has been discussed above): 1). Heat shields (the vulcanizing does not take the heat real well 2). No oil leaks (breaks down the rubber pretty quick. Beef up the...

    What custom license plate?

With all the little "things" you've had to deal with, I was thinking "Elvira" you know Mistress of the Dark. Close to Eleanor, but with way more attitude! ;)

    Is this a good radiator?

Awesome! I'll look foward to your progess. I'll be starting on the '67 core support swap this weekend, and will be starting a thread on that. Bet you finish before I do ;)

    Is this a good radiator?

Use the 16lbs cap. If you look at a '67 version of the "Terlingua Racing" team car, you'll notice they cut the licence plate recessed area out in order to get more air over the lower portion of the radiator. Not sure I'd want to highlight it with yellow paint, but the cut out is a fairly...

    Need to add air conditioning.

Upgrades for R134a Sweet! That's a very nice piece! Are you going to change the condensor and expansion valve so you can run R134a while you're at it? A few years back, I went down there and met with the guys at C.A.A. before I bought the kit for my '66. Good group with some deep...

    Is this a good radiator?

I had been debating on whether to cut up the stock support and fabricate a new "cone" or weld in a '67 core support. I Just looked at the picture of your radiator and support, and made up my mind, it's worth replacing the core support. That's a very clean install Jay!

KYB GR2 shocks on the rear (Gas A Justs up front)?

I swapped out from the Gas-a-just to the GR2s on the rear of my convertible, and it made a huge difference in ride and lateral grip through rough corners. That said, the rear unsprung weight is pretty light on this car (more info on web page in signature). The Gas-a-just have a very stiff...

    Is this a good radiator?

That radiator will be a nice fit. As per my first post, I'd recommend a high volume water pump and you may want to look at a high volume thermostat as well. Two other things you may want to consider. One is opening up the lower valance (like the fiberglass Shelby "R" style, or Terilingua...

    Recommendations for jumpy suspension?

Based on your description it sounds like a bad case of toe out coupled with some (normal) bump steer. Replace the tires, have the front end inspected and aligned. If nothing is worn past the limits, 1/8" of toe in, 0*-0.5* negative camber, and as much positive caster as you can get will make...
