    Tail Light Question

ah, thanks a bunch. Thanks makes me feel better. I was afraid it was going to be one of those looking for your glasses when they're on your head kind of thing.

trunk lock stuck/frozen (sharing a trick that worked)

Makes sense, I've heard of using graphite to lube locks. Old school way of doing it I guess.

    Tail Light Question

Hey everyone, got a tail light question for you. This may sound stupid, but I can't figure it out. What makes the long red horizontal lenses light up on my lx? Neither one of mine are lit, and I can't even see what bulb would lite them. Am I missing something?

    platinum plugs vs copper core

I've yet to do my turbo conversion, but I'm pretty sure the turbo motors all came with forged pistons. bhuff / red correct me if I'm wrong here.

    Are Power Window motors rebuildable?

I've gotten pretty good at changing the plastic bushings, so I already checked that. Were do you get the DC brushes at?

    Are power window motors rebuildable?

That's what I thought Doc. I'll tear it apart and check it out. It's more fun to tear stuff apart when you know it's already broke. We'll see what I come up with.

    Are Power Window motors rebuildable?

My driver's side window motor died. I happened to have a spare for my right rear quarter window so I just swapped the gear boxes and I'm good to go. Can I rebuild the old motor that gave out? I've gotten good at replacing the bushings and all, but can anything be done for the actual window motor...

    Conv. Top Problem

You might check the top frame, make sure it's all nice and straight. Anyone know how these pumps behave on the way out? You might check for fluid leaks around there. I've only had my '89 a couple of years and haven't had this issue yet. Just can't make mine seal. :(

    Big Problem

I'm sure there's someone with an SVO on here that knows more than me, but according to the SVO Club of America SVO arms have ball joints that are integrated into the control arm itself. The old ball joints would have to be machined out of the control arm, then the hole machined to accept a press...

    Big Problem

Very detailed instructions Red_Lx, great job. I vote for the ball joints as well, but be aware that your ball joints are not serviceable. Unfortunately if your ball joints are bad you will need to replace your entire lower control arm. The arms match one of the Lincolns instead of the other...

    1989 2.3 mustang

I second the burned out bulb, Red_Lx recommended. Just make sure the new bulb is in tight so it doesn't fall out inside the light fixture. Ask me where I keep my spare turn signal bulb!

    89 mustang lx wont start

This may sound stupid and simple, but check your battery and cables. I had a somewhat similar problem and messed with stuff for a couple of hours before my 9year-old-son told me I needed to clean the battery because it looked "really yucky". Here I thought God gave me a son just for his small...

    am I crazy?

You can be as different as you want to be, it'll just cost a lot more. I don't see much sense in re-inventing the wheel, when your just making the same wheel.

    clutch problems

aha, I just re-read your question. A new clutch would definately help. I actually had a clutch pedal snap in a '78 Cobra II one time from all the tension. I replaced the clutch (and welded the pedal) and things got a lot smoother. I'll let someone with a little more expirence chime in...

I have an '89 vert, keep getting the glove box and trunk confused. But, I have hauled 2x4's with the top down :nice:

Is it breaking in the same place every time? If so, that would be the place to start.

    92 vert roof leak help

I have a similar problem with mine. May have to try the weather strip trick for the winter. I've heard that the aftermarket weather stripping for the vert's is pretty crummy.
