    Tune First?or Wait

If you buy a complete kit for $250 and do the work yourself on the weekend instead of sitting on the couch, thats a lot of bang for the buck.... Even better, do what I did. Find some good gears on craigslist, and get some oil and bearings from the parts store, and for around $150 all together...

    Cranks But Wont Start

The engine wiring harness sits right on the very hot engine on both sides. However, only the passenger side wires were crispy. I'm guessing the extra heat from the heater tubes are the cause, although this doesn't really make sense since the engine itself is probably hotter than the coolant...

    Tune First?or Wait

If you do rearend gears, do 3.73s. Do a little research and I believe that you will find out that most people think 3.55s just aren't enough. Cold air intake and full exhaust if you haven't done that yet. If you do a cam I would think the car would benefit from a tune, but until you do...

    Surge/hesitation After Plugs

Sounds similar to a problem that I was having. I was much younger then and didn't know that much about cars yet. I gave up and took it to a shop. They had a very hard time finding the problem, even with all of their fancy machines. $500 and a new MAF later, the problem was solved. Try to find...

    Quick Easy Cai Question

Can someone please take a measurement for me. I need to know the distance from the opening of the throttle body (the edge closest to the firewall), to the opening of the fender mounted air filter (the edge closest to the headlight). In other words, the length of your CAI from the far side of one...

Knock Knock My 3.8... Shiny Heads?

Wow! No responses and this was posted over a month ago. Have you figured it out yet? Could just be a new head that was installed by the previous owner, but that doesn't explain the knocking. Now, I am a 5.0 guy, so I am not as familiar with the 3.8, but i know the engines are very closely...

    No Fan/over Heating Issue!!

I forgot about this before, but as mentioned above, when you run the KOEO test the car will turn the fan on for a few seconds. I believe it will even run the fan at the two different speeds. All you need to do is put a jumper (or paperclip) between the two connectors shown in the link below...

    Cranks But Wont Start

I wrapped all of the broken wires in the wiring harness, and even most of the other wires just to be safe. Put everything in a new plastic loom, wrapped it all up, installed it in the car, and put almost everything else back together (I have a couple things jimmy rigged since I am still working...

    No Fan/over Heating Issue!!

if you look at the ccrm a/c diagram, you will find the electric cooling fan motor near the bottom with some notes just to the left discussing when the fan should be on (engine temp, a/c clutch engaged). So the engine has to be up to a certain temperature, or the a/c clutch needs to be engaged...

    Exhaust Opinions

I have Magnaflows. Really high quality product. Not quite as aggressive sounding as many other systems, without sacrificing flow. I saw a catback comparison somewhere that was comparing decibels to horsepower, and magnaflow was near the bottom on the decibels side but very close to the top on...

    No Fan/over Heating Issue!!

There are supposed to be 3 pins missing (pins 9, 19, and 20). I believe you may be confusing these pins with pins 5, 6, and 16. Check out this diagram http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/wmarti7/2010-08-20_104005_94_mustang7.gif As for the fan, it sounds like you have checked a lot of things and...

    Cranks But Wont Start

Yes, only a code for the canister purge circuit failure. I pulled the codes after several attempts to start the car. However, since the car never actually started, I'm not sure if the computer even had the time to find any problems (codes), but I am not sure how that works.

    Cranks But Wont Start

That was a worry of mine. Is there any specific tests or ways to tell if there has been damage done to the ECU? Should I be checking for voltage or continuity at any specific wires? The 94 and 95 5.0's engine wiring harness is a little bit different than the fox 5.0's. There is just one large...

    Cranks But Wont Start

I was checking for continuity between several different wires on the passenger side of the engine wiring harness. I found a few instances where I had continuity between a couple wires from the same plug (at the fuel injectors, and throttle position sensor). So I am going to unwrap that side of...

    Cranks But Wont Start

This is how the wires look. I pulled the engine harness off last night to get a better look at everything. It appears that only the portion of the harness that was near the heater tubes is damaged. I guess the extra heat from the coolant can be really damaging (after 20 years). The drivers side...

    Cranks But Wont Start

Yes I have gone over the Cranks but no start checklist several times as well as the CCRM checklist. I saw that a voltage of over 3.7v at the TPS sensor would not allow the car to start and I'm guessing with the wires touching and all, that is probably what is happening. The checklist says that...

    Cranks But Wont Start

So, I tested a lot of things last night and everything seems to be correct, but the car still won't start. I checked every fuse. I checked for key on engine off voltages at every pin on the CCRM. I checked for 12 volts at the fuel injectors red wire, and a pulsing ground at the black wire. I...

    Help - Clutch Pedal Jumps

I fixed the problem quite some time ago, life just got too busy and I forgot to get back on here. But I wanted to post the solution for anyone on here in the future that comes across the same problem. As I originally suspected, the problem was the new pressure plate. I pulled the transmission...

    Cranks But Wont Start

I should mention that the car ran just fine before I tore it apart. I also checked for engine codes and it shows a 565 (canister purge circuit failure).
