    Remove corrosion on Bullitt wheels??

I drive an '01 GT and over the years my Bullitt wheels have become corroded behind the spokes. Is there a practical way to remove this corrosion without damaging the wheels? Is there a way to remove it without machining and repainting the wheels? Thanks for your input.

    FedEx came...Longtubes & X pipe!!

You managed to pass emissions testing with NO CATS?! How did you do that? Did you slip the guy a $20 or something? Seriously though, if you can pass comfortably in Chicago with longtubes on, then maybe I should give them a shot. Are the emissions requirements for Cook County pretty low or...

    FedEx came...Longtubes & X pipe!!

Another question about longtubes I have been interested in installing longtube headers as well, but I have held off because I am concerned about my car not passing emissions here in Chicago. Is it true that longtube headers will usually cause cars to fail emissions? If so, is there a...

    Shock replacement

If I install lowering springs on my car and also install caster-camber plates, will the stock shocks wear out prematurely? I know it makes sense to replace springs and shocks at the same time to save labor costs, but if my shocks are OK, do I really have to bother changing them?

    Shock replacement

I'm jumping in here... How do I know when it's time to replace my shocks? I haven't checked for leaks, but my car seems to be squeaking a little bit over bumps (the suspension, not the door panels!), and it doesn't seem to be handling as tight as it used to. I have an 01 GT with 45,500 miles...

    Cutout's on 2000 GT?

I have been interested in putting cutouts on my car as well, but I have heard information that caused me to decide not to order and install them. I'm no mechanic, but here is what I've heard. The point of cutouts is to bypass the mufflers and, if applicable, the catalytic converters as...

    Manuel Tranny Fluid?

GM Syncromesh works fine in the TR-3650. The service manager at my local Ford dealer actually recommended it, and several of the Mustang-owning mechanics at the dealership swear by it. I put it in my car last summer and it's been fine. It went through a Chicago winter without a problem, too...

    Spintech and Dr. Gas

BBK Long Tube headers  I would love to have long tubes on my car. They would cover up the rattling noise from the heat shield on one of my catalytic converters :nonono: Good luck!

    Spintech and Dr. Gas

I have the Spintech x-pipe on my car along with the Spintech catback with Sportsman mufflers. I think it sounds great, and the pieces are of good quality. The Spintech x-pipe does use a Dr. Gas junction, but they have welded a plate on it that says Spintech instead of Dr. Gas. It's a great...

    Good brand for long tubes?

Thanks for the info on brands and pricing. How about the other question I had about intake modifications? Are they necessary when installing LT headers? Do I need to change the throttle body, intake manifold, or any other part on the intake side of things? Or can I just buy and install LT...

    Good brand for long tubes?

I'm curious about installing long tube headers on my 2001 4.6GT. It has a stock motor; all I've changed so far is the midpipe and catback to Spintech units. I'm pretty happy with the combo, but of course, there's always room for improvement... What is a good brand of long tube headers? I'd...

    What Manual transmission Fluid?

Tremec recommends Havoline. If you can't find that, my Ford dealer actually recommended GM Syncromesh! I have that in my car and it works fine, even through cold Chicago winters.

Lug nut key is stripped-What to do?

This happened to me recently as well. I took it to a local garage, where they attempted to use the impact gun again and the original (though stripped) key. When that failed, they put a chisel attachment on the impact gun, chiseled a notch in the wheel lock, and it came right off. You could...

    2002 Mustang GT Exhaust Mods

The stock exhaust configuration on your car included exhaust manifolds, an h-pipe with a total of 4 catalytic converters, and a cat-back exhaust. Switching to an aftermarket x-pipe or h-pipe AND cat-back exhaust usually yields an additional 5-20 hp, depending on the type of midpipe (x or h...

my steering wheel is off center and tilted

1979 platform = imperfect steering wheel, driver seat, shifter, and foot pedal alignment. It's about time a NEW (not just restyled) Mustang came out. I love my 2001 GT, but I agree with most of the magazine articles I have read lately: I wish the ergonomics were better. I'm anxious to drive...

    Got some wheel spacers

I'm not sure if you've checked out other threads on this topic, but you should know that 3 1/2 exposed threads is NOT enough to adequately and safely support your rear wheels. There are many horror stories from people who have lost wheels while driving due to the use of wheel spacers like the...

Anybody have pics of these wheels on a '99-'04?

Here is a photochop that was done awhile ago. It's based on the '05 concept car, not the production car, but you'll get the point.

Anybody have pics of these wheels on a '99-'04?

Thanks for all the pictures, 68 & 00. I can tell the difference between the Edelbrock 454 wheels and the Halibrand style that comes from Team III, but I like them both! It's too bad that the Edelbrocks are discontinued, but the Team III's are still available. My suspicion was confirmed...

Anybody have pics of these wheels on a '99-'04?

I got several other pictures from another member, and I'll post a couple of them here. He went to a lot of trouble to have the rims made with a custom offset, and the manufacturer made several sets that would fit the Mustang. There is a huge thread on these over on www.mach1registry.com
