Job questions.

My first "real" job was working at Grand Auto Supply. It was a fun job with crappy pay, not many raises and lots of hard work for 3 years. I have had a lot of jobs in between. I got a job at an Audi dealership a few years ago and I learned a LOT! If you like cars, dealerships have the potential...

    Brakes are done!!! (PICS)

Thank you sodaking!!!! www.ponyr.com has the 17" 4 or 5 lug pony wheels. I was thinking about getting them but I changed my mind because I got the '99 Cobra wheels for $95 a piece (PM me if you are interested in how I got them so cheap). Couldn't pass them up. It was either the '98 Cobra's...

    Brakes are done!!! (PICS)

Thank you very much for the nice compliments guys! Bentley429, off-hand I do not know. I do know that I probably should have just bought the M-2300-k kit and it might have been cheaper. I did upgrade all the hoses I could to the Maximum Motorsports/Stoptech SS brake hoses (very nice products...

    Brakes are done!!! (PICS)

Well the brake conversion is finally done. After a long weekend of wrenching, I now have a Mustang that stops and stops well...finally. I am pretty tired and sore (not to sound like a pu$$y) so I will keep this short and let the pictures do most of the talking. 13" rotors up front with...

Will I need a spring compressor for Pro-kit springs?

Here are a couple more pictures: Front brake with wheels off: [/IMG] Rear brakes assembled: [/IMG] More pictures to come! Sorry, I was too lazy to start another thread for the conversion so I piggy backed it.

Will I need a spring compressor for Pro-kit springs?

Reed, thank you!!! I Basically went with theCobra brake kit but I pieced it together with all brand new parts (except the booster and the spindles....they were used but I cleaned em up and painted them). In the front I used the Mach 1 calipers with 13" rotors and MM SS brake lines. In the...

Will I need a spring compressor for Pro-kit springs?

UPDATE with pictures!!!! We decided to forget about using a spring compressor because we didn't feel like stopping work to run to the parts store. We instead used two prybars and it was kind of a Royal PITA because a. the spring wouldn't stay seated and b. the spring would not seat correctly...

Got my Maximum Grip box :D

BlooDReigN, Congrats on the New MM parts!!!!! I am sure Daggar was talking about the exhaust modifications to the H/X-pipe needed to fit the torque arm. I would have done the torque arm already but I fear the exhaust modification and the fact that I would have to do the mods to both my...

Will I need a spring compressor for Pro-kit springs?

I am going to make a run to AutoZone in about 20 minutes and if they don't have something close to what the Ford compressor looks like I willl try Winchester Auto (small local auto parts chain that carries a lot of hard to find stuff). My buddy who is helping me seems confident that we won't...

Will I need a spring compressor for Pro-kit springs?

To all that replied, THANK YOU!!!!:nice: Tunedin302, I thought that was the one I should use, but I was not sure. Thanks for the picture and the MM reference. Shakerhood, Thanks a bunch! Reed, Thanks for the idea about using the tie down straps. 90mustangGT, the prybar suggestion is...

    Starting another custom audio build

That application looks sweet too. On mine I have the grill and the ring that mounts to the panel. I just don't prefer that look. I like the "built-in" look like you have done on both of those cars. I can't wait to see the rest of the install!

    Chilton or Haynes?

    My vote goes to Chilton.

    Starting another custom audio build

I REALLY like the way the door panel came out...looks ultra clean and stealthy plus it's different looking. I have MB Quart components and I absolutely HATE the factory MB round speaker grilles. Nice job!

Will I need a spring compressor for Pro-kit springs?

Thanks guys! Does anyone know if any of the chain autoparts stores carry the "correct" spring compressor like the one that is detailed in the Chiltons manual and the one that Shakerhood described? I just don't want to be running all over town wasting time looking if someone knows offhand...

Will I need a spring compressor for Pro-kit springs?

Thanks for everyone's quick response! I will either go buy one to add to my tool collection or I will just go rent one from the AutoZone down the street. Thanks again guys and I will post pics once the conversion is complete. Have a great night! Justin

Will I need a spring compressor for Pro-kit springs?

Hello fellow Stangbangers, Doing the SN95 Cobra brake/5 lug conversion this weekend and I am changing out the A-arms for the FRPP units. I have Eibach Pro-kit springs in the car currently, will I need a spring compressor or are the Eibach springs short enough to slowly lower the A-arm with a...

    Lowering with Eibachs

I have a '92 LX hatch with pony wheels (not after this weekend though, 99 cobra's going on) using the Pro-kit. I used 245/50/16 in the rear at one time, but opted to stay with the 225's up front to reduce any rubbing issues. You should be fine to run 245's all the way around. Might rub a bit at...
