Can't wait any longer. Gotta spill the beans

You are in for much, much more that just an engine swap. Your shock towers have to go which means the entire front suspension needs to be replaced with a MII style like Dark Knight mentioned. I think once you consider the cost (especially so if you pay someone else to do the work) of this you...

    Almost done

I had read all of this info on the Texas DOT site and was going to register as a classic...but the insurance agent talked me into going the antique route because the driving limitations are impossible to enforce. The biggest advantage is only having to register once every 5 years and no inspections.

    Almost done

OK...actual proof that I do work on my car! Last weekend I trailered the car over to Mohr Restorations to get the paint touched up and buffed. While there we will also bolt the freshly painted hood on. After that all I need to do is get the trim installed before I get it tagged and registered...

Aftermarket brakes not always better than stock?

I can understand running a MII suspension if you need to ax the shock towers for a large engine...but converting to a MII suspension for improved handling is an oxymoron. But since you plan on installing a 429 I surmise that handling is not what you are looking for? Plus you do not have to...

    Daily driver insurance?

I am about to buy some insurance for my coupe and the best quote so far is $287 year based on 3000 miles maximum, $30k value, and a $500 deductable...this was from Smith Insurance. I found a link to them through the North Texas Mustang Clubs website.

anyone use these nice $300 racing seats in their stang?

I would not put those seats in my car. Besides the obvious quality concerns...I do not like the head rest sticking up above the top of the door on early cars...looks funny to me. And the colors might match your car but what about the style? If it were me I would cough up/save up the extra dough...

going today to get some dyno number..

That graph does look a little strange...although I am no expert. I wonder of there was a big temp difference between the two runs? Regardless I am real interested in the outcome. Are you going to post the vid? Please do!

The curve on that graph is a little strange...although I am no expert on dyno graphs. I wonder if there was a big difference in air temp between the two? Regardless I am real interested in the outcome.

Who makes the best lowering blocks?

Consider this...dearch the springs 1" and then use a smaller spacer to fine tune the ride height to your liking. I would not recomend dearching 2" because if it is then too low your only option is to rearch or new springs. The problem with a 2" spacer is that it puts the spring/shock plate...
