    Intake manifold

It's the intake manifold with the plastic cross over that are bad about cracking.. Your 2004 should have a metal coolant crossover. For the units with a metal cross over the usual failure is with the gasket.. IMO if you are planning to do the work yourself and it's not broken now, there's no...

    Intake manifold

Just wondering........... Why do you think the intake needs to be replaced? Or what benefit are you hoping to get? Are you doing the work yourself or paying someone to do the work?

01 v6 very dash wiring issue

If this were my car I would check the ground behind the center console. This ground is shared by multiple modules including the cluster, radio and several others. The cluster ground wires are black or black with a white strip.. Use a test light that will "load" the circuit. My odometer goes...

    Vapor purge solenoid help!!!

+1 on performing a through visual check. To me it would be important to know IF the reason for the poor running is related to the EVAP system or not.. How to tell? Looking at the Short Term Fuel trims (STFT) and Long Term Fuel Trims (LTFT). Pinch off the EVAP line at the throttle body. Do...

    Cooler thermostat to solve pinging

What are your STFT and LTFT's? At idle and under load? Has any thought been given to the heat range of the spark plugs? What do the spark plugs tell you when reading the condition? Does the pinging get better if higher octane fuel is used? Does the pinging improve if a small amount of timing...

    Help

IMO it's easier to inspect the spark plugs to see IF the motor is burning a ton of oil. +1 on the compression test. Does the motor make timing chain noise at initial start up (especially cold)? If so, consider installing a new set of timing chains. This was the reason the first motor in my...

97 Cobra Coyote Swap Alternator Issue

For the 1996-1998 model year, normally pin #1 is has a jumper to pin #3. Pictures would help.

    Cooler thermostat to solve pinging

Don't install a lower temperature T-stat than the factory. IMO your effort would be much better spent to de-carbonize the combustion chamber. Also what have you done to rule out clogged fuel injectors as the cause of the pinging? I have had great luck with InjectorRX.com

    03 over heating

I would like to get you to slow down. Replace fewer parts. Test more. Two CCRM's? That's a very expensive part to replace on a guess. HOW did you bleed the air from the cooling system? The V6 is very bad about trapping air inside the cooling jacket. V6 coolant refilling procedure...

    Trans swap

At the very least you can expect to have some speedometer calibration "issues". Expect that the number of teeth in the OSS reluctor wheel will be different. This can be corrected in the same way as a rear end gear change. The 1999 will have a 4R70W where as the 2003-2004 will likely have a...

Fuel Starts W/ Fluid. Torque App Shows No Fuel Pressure at Rail. Help Please

We need to fall back and double check the work. I'm thinking there are some "missing" details regarding HOW some of the tests have been done. For example. When testing the trunk IFS switch did you do the tests/measurements with the switch connected or disconnected? The requested tests need...

02’ Mustang GT flutter like sound

Double check that the spark plugs are correctly torqued. If the spark plugs are loose and start to back out this increases the possibility of spark plug blow out. Much easier to re-torque to factory specs than to repair the heads after spark plug blows out.

3.8 taki,g too long to start after sitting

Fuel pressure leak down from a leaking or damaged fuel basket check valve. Try this. Cycle the key on/pause/off several times without cranking. Does this improve (reduce) cranking time? If so, likely the fuel pressure is low. It's not being maintained during starting/running attempts.

Fuel Starts W/ Fluid. Torque App Shows No Fuel Pressure at Rail. Help Please

^^^SMOKING gun alert!!>>> 0.03 volts at the trunk mounted IFS switch PK/BK wire PROVES that the IFS switch is not passing power. I suspect that if you were to provide a temporary jumper wire across the IFS switch, this will improve the situation. For example, the sound of the fuel pump...

    EGR

I'm going to assume that the P0401 DTC code is present even after all the above work was done. Also wondering. Did you happen to notice that one of the "possible" causes is the reversal of the the DPFE hoses? In general when working on my own cars I attempt to test first before replacing...

    EGR

Just wondering. Was one of the parts replaced the DPFE sensor? Did you double check that the two vacuum lines to/from the DPFE sensor are connected and leak free? IF replaced, did you use an aftermarket DPFE sensor? Ford has changed the calibration of the DPFE sensor. Either buy a Ford...

Fuel Starts W/ Fluid. Torque App Shows No Fuel Pressure at Rail. Help Please

The Trunk mounted IFS is a simple on/off two prong switch. As such it does not have a built in ground. So the testing should be from one terminal of the IFS switch and a body ground. Have you actually identified the trunk mounted IFS switch? I don't understand why you are messing with the...

    96 Gear Change Information

IMO 4.10 is the lowest gear to use for a PRACTICAL street driven Mustang. Yes I know there are some of you out there with 4.56 that LOVE tire shredding on them. But I just have doubts that any of them are actually driving their Wife/GF on long trips. ;) If your customer truly wants a "sling...

    96 Gear Change Information

The 1996-1998 model year uses a VSS sensor. The output of the VSS sensor goes to BOTH the PCM and the Cluster. Reprogramming the PCM only will not give a good speedometer reading. So any fix should include the cluster and PCM. The usual method used for the 1996-1998 model year is to use a...

Fuel Starts W/ Fluid. Torque App Shows No Fuel Pressure at Rail. Help Please

For the 1999-2004 model year the fuel rail pressures sensor (FRPS) is a "no start" sensor. That is without a valid FRPS input, it should be expected the car will not start. Any time a DTC calls out a "Circuit Malfunction" it means there's something sooooooo wrong with the circuit that the PCM...
