    This normal...??

ok.. looking up specs on that car, it weighs 3200 lbs. it has 200 hp and 195 lb ft. your car is basically stock, and 14 years old (probably not running as well as the engines ford tested to 225hp/300lbft.) not knocking our cars or anything, but it shouldn't be THAT shocking to you.

    Arm rest delete

It WAS the right color, but that part always fades differently than the rest of the console. All the greys were "Titanium Grey" until 93's "Opal Grey", but the Armrest delete was only available during 90, so it was all Titanium Grey. On my 7-up Edition with armrest delete, that part was faded...

Doing T5 Swap: What's the Starter Index Plate?

On the list of "needed parts" at 50resto.com, it lists that i need a new Starter Index Plate. Im not sure what that is, but i'm assuming its the cover that bolts to the lower part of the bellhousing that protects the flywheel and indexs the starter. if thats true, then can i use the one from...

94-5 mass air the same as 89-93

was it a "pick-your-part" junkyard, or did they go and get the part for you. if they got the part for you, and you asked for a 94+, they probably just got you a 93- mass air meter because they know it will work on a 94+. the 94+ should be a larger diameter though, so i think you got screwed.

    Just beat an STI

STi's get their crazy acceleration by basically launching off the limiter... assuming it was a REAL STi, chances are he bogged badly. It was driver error on his part. My suggestion would be not to judge how fast your car is by comparing it to cars random cars you come accross on the street...

    Used trans....yea or nah?

10hole got it right.. its all luck. definitely, if you can ride in the car prior to removal, then thats a safer way to go. If you buy it off a random guy who says "it used to be good when i removed it 3 years ago.." then run.

    Bad H-Pipe?

you dont literally have to hold your hand to the H-pipe.. if you are an inch or so off, you should be able to feel the temp. difference, w/o burning your hand. I have one of those craftsman laser thermometors though... it does come in handy.

Question for those of you with Off Road H-pipes...

Im planning to get an offroad H-pipe, but i was wondering what you guys did with the emission tube coming from the smog pump? Obviously the smog pump is worthless with an offroad h-pipe, but i want to leave the pump in there and functional just in case... what did you guys do? also, where...
