Looking for a car for the g/f (reconstructed title questions)

I had to make a color sacrifice once because another car was on its way out. Unfortunately, if you don't have a lot of time on your hands when used car shopping the chips don't always fall in your favor. You don't get the power this you wanted, maybe cruise control, or in this case a black car...

    Turbo to 331???

I understand that when things aren't going right you sometimes just want to throw it all to the wind and make a drastic change and hope the issues go away. Our cars can certainly be frustrating, especially with some of the items you mentioned above. It might be worth while to give it one more...

What size fuel injectors and Lighning MAF?

I made 313 whp (about 360 crank hp) with a vortech on a stock longblock with exhaust and a powerpipe at 9-10 psi. I don't see any reason why 400 crank hp would be a problem. As mentioned earlier by 007, 60# would allow room for further expansion, but you could get by with 450 crank hp with...

Got A New Car, Now It's Time To Come Back

Yup, the S/C is still alive and kicking! I haven't updated my sig yet, but I just put on a Mallory ignition, coil, wires, to replace all that stock stuff. I'm planning on a rebuild with a new top end, and if I'm patient enough I'll make it a stroker rebuild, but I may not if I don't have enough...

Got A New Car, Now It's Time To Come Back

Hey everyone! I haven't been around here in a few months as I've been trying to get my finances in order, get ready for graduation in May by finishing up school and everything else. My Saturn really started pissing me off, something was breaking every 2 or so weeks and I had enough. I had an...

    New Alternator Issue?

JT, thank you very much 'sir. This is the e-mail I got from them today: "The problem is a faulty voltage regulator, it is not restricting max output. The million dollar question is: did it just go bad on its own or did something in the car kill it? We would need to get the unit back...

    New Alternator Issue?

Hey guys, I bought a PA Performance 130A alternator for the '95, and I'm not sure if it's my problem or not. It runs the car and charges the battery fine. My first 1 1/2 hours of driving I had no issues, but I did notice my volt gauge was moving around a little bit. The next morning I...

    Gas prices suck!!!

The car used to be my daily driver round trip 45 miles a day, 7 days a week, but now it's a weekend warrior strictly due to gas. It really eats me up too. When I make more money I'll eat the cost and drive it, but for right now it isn't worth it. I'd rather ride the bike or drive the car that...

Brief Note To All My SN Friends

Grady, you've also helped me on numerous occasions with all sorts of issues and the like with my car, and I'll also be saddened to not see you hanging around as much. However, seeing the reasoning behind it, I think that it's really cool. You are definitely one of the go-to fellas around...

    Battery Relocation Clarification

I decided to wait because I couldn't get clear answers on the questions. I instead opted for an ignition beef up. When I get a new battery I will do these then. Sorry I can't help further. EDIT: If it helps at all, when I decide to do this I'm going to get an Optima battery with a nice looking...

    Stance??

I have no problems running 265 wide up front and 295 wide out back. 18x9" up front and 18x10" in the rear with the 1.5" drop the Pro-Kit offers. That drop is low man, for sure. There are lots of pictures on here of people with pretty much any available spring set you can find. Take a look...

    Stance??

Stockers: If you can afford it, I would still recommend going with lowering springs. I just put in the Eibach Pro-Kit and what an amazing difference. Even 18" wheels need help filling up that wheel well space. I don't have pictures because the car is filthy and don't her to post her...

    motor swap ????

I couldn't tell you about the k-member. If you still have the factory cats you want the air pump. Our cars didn't come with C4 transmissions.

    Bang for buck

You said a cobra rear, but what gears are in it? If it's 3.55 or 'better', I'd say go for a mid-pipe and back exhaust setup. If you have something like 3.08s, go for a better gear like 3.73.

    tranny update

Nope. 50K seems to be a normal and accepted fluid/filter change interval for transmissions.

Had insomnia last night, decided to make a video

I think for me it was your extensive knowledge of the car and the amount of different parts and items you have and have had on your car. Your posts also read very mature I suppose. For most people it takes a long time to get a car into as nice of a condition as yours is, and with the...

    Tire Recommendations needed

I have the KDW's (Note the difference between KDW and KDWS, the S includes snow traction and is an entirely different tire) and they are one sticky tire in the summer. I've never taken 'em to the strip but they act great with the gobs of torque from my blower and my 3.73s on the street.
