    Permanent EGR removal

Has anyone had good or bad experiences with the removal of the EGR valve? I know some drag racers do it, I wanted to know if anyone has found any advantage doing it on a daily driver, or does the computer just get confused?

Finally got around to that pesky idle........

Someone posted a link to another similar post that shows a picture of the idle air kit. I also have the kit. Look at the picture, the part is designed to let air enter one chamber and then be regulated through an orifice (by an adjuster screw) into the second chamber. This was to allow the...

Finally got around to that pesky idle........

The part is made for the 5.0 and happens to fit the 4.6 but doesn't work, I have the part and by design cannot work on our 4.6 cars.

Finally got around to that pesky idle........

Some aftermarket TB's have a idle adj. screw. If so just unplug the stupid IAC, set your idle with the screw on the aftertmarket TB and enjoy snappy throttle response.

Will road salt ruin my rims?

Those are machine finished wheels and the salt WILL eat them up. If they were painted wheels, the salt wouldn't hurt them. -Marcus -Affordable Aluminum Wheel Repair, LLC.

    Steam From One Tailpipe

You have moisture build up (while the car is off) in the exhaust system, and when you start your car it burns that water off creating steam. Some cars seem to do it more than others. Remember H2O is a by-product of combustion. You might even notice water dripping from your tail pipe...

Thinking of welding straight pipes, instead of mufflers

With the factory cats still in place they will muffle the exhaust to a point, I have heard a 5.0 with cats and no mufflers (still full exhaust) and it sounded ok, but it was LOUD.

HELP!!!!! Before I hurt my tranny...

If you want to keep the locks make sure to adjust them by the instructions and use loc-tite to secure them. I don't think a syncro would be bad on your car because you say 2nd and 4th are out. The syncros are 1/2, or 3/4.

HELP!!!!! Before I hurt my tranny...

I read a tech article about the 5 speeds having internal shift stops and that you should not install the stops that come with aftermarket shifters. The reason given: "The transmission could POP out of gear and damage the shift rail" I never instaled the stops with my Tri-ax.
