Has anyone had good or bad experiences with the removal of the EGR valve? I know some drag racers do it, I wanted to know if anyone has found any advantage doing it on a daily driver, or does the computer just get confused?
There's really no advantage to removing it ... leave it alone. It only opens under light throttle anyway ... at idle and WOT it's closed. Not only does it help lower emissions, it also helps with preventing detonation under light throttle too.
i'm taking mine off temorarily after my l/t install. mainly because i've been hearing some things about the l/t's causing some more serious engine problems from weld slag. so i'm going to disconnect mine for a few thousand miles so none of that crap gets recycled through my engine, & then reconnect it
