    Which Plenums whistle/don't whistle???

I don't own any aftermarket plenum/TB combo yet - I'm just trying to decide on which one is best. I'm inclined to go the cheaper route and get the C & L/BBK 75mm TB (you can get this combo shipped to my doorstep for $357 from Bros. Performance) but I recall some posts about how their car now...

    Which Plenums whistle/don't whistle???

Which one of the aftermarket plenums do not whistle? I'd rather not have a stang that sounds like "whistling Dixie."

Throwing Code: 5284 Oil Pressure Switch Failure

First time I pulled that DTC, I brought it in to Ford and they replaced the oil pressure switch. Next time I brrought it in for the same code, the tech tells me that the car must be running when you check the DTCs otherwise it will pull a code because the switch is not activated with the engine...

    Official Tremec 3650 Issues Thread

My local dealer did the same thing for me, and it was indeed about 15% better than before (the gear lash on the 1-2.) But it's far from gone, that's for certain!

Welp... Took off my Front Sway Bar!

What do aftermarket sway bars weigh? We've established that the stock one weighs about 17 lbs.

Welp... Took off my Front Sway Bar!

BTW, great link. Sounds like an aftermarket sway bar on a mustang in itself won't exactly help my winter traction!!!

Welp... Took off my Front Sway Bar!

Are you serious? Does the stock front sway bar really weigh 30-40 lbs? What do aftermarket sway bars weigh? When I did my springs, I never would have thought the sway bar weighed that much, but I didn't entirely remove it from the car.

Clutch pedal take-up gets sticky once the tranny gets warm???

I do make about 14-18 1/4 mile runs each year at the strip, but other than that I'm not all that hard on it since it's my daily driver and I don't street race. It's funny though, it must be related somehow to heat as I have not had this problem in the winter - only in the summer. Strange...

Advice on lowering fluid level for the 3650 doesn't ring true to me. . .

The early 01s had the T-45; mine has the 3650.

    Question about gears

Here's my attempt. . . Bare minimum (assuming you don't need a rebuild kit and have fairly low mileage on your GT - say less than 60,000 miles): 3 quarts of Ford Differential fluid (check the tag on your diff for what weight you should use) The 99+ definitely take a synthetic gear oil -...

Advice on lowering fluid level for the 3650 doesn't ring true to me. . .

I have read on this board several times that so & so called tremec's tech line and they advised them to lower the fluid level to 3.2 litres (3.5 U.S. Quarts) and use any Dextron III ATF or Mobil One Synthetic ATF. Well, not to add more confusion to the 3650 cluster-puck, but I called Tremec's...

Just got MM Subframes welded in yesterday & WOW...

Can't say I noticed too much difference in daily driving, except for slightly better sterring response and a little tighter ride. They must work, though, as you can really tell how they hold the car together when you are jacking it up! If I'm jacking up one tire, the rear tire on the same side...

    Tuning and plenum mod. questions?

Timing lulls between upshifts? Are you sure? I've heard many people talk about this, and I can honestly say there is something scaling back the throttle a bit inbetween shifts - in particular the 1-2 shift. 2000GT's car exhibits none of this slight hesitation on upshifts with his manual...

    Tuning and plenum mod. questions?

That makes sense to me! I forgot about WOT being at WOT. When you change something mechanical (plenum), the car is probably still grabbing the same values (fuel, timing, etc.) from the tables the car uses at WOT. I think I'm understanding this now - thanks for your explanation. Just for...

    BFG DR Questions

Sorry to be off-topic, but what did your ETs do from before and after the DRs? I'm getting DRs (probably Nittos) in the spring and am expecting at least a 2/10th drop in ETs from the DRs alone. Is this reasonable? How are you launching with the 4.10s at the strip with the DRs?

Stock gear 3.27 1/4 times and mph (NA ONLY)...

I suppose my "walk it out of the hole" technique with DRs won't improve on my 60's . . .maybe you are right. I don't think you are right, but since I have yet to drag with DRs and my 4.10s I'll just say "we'll see." I'm making the crazy assumption that it will improve my ets, but you are right...

Stock gear 3.27 1/4 times and mph (NA ONLY)...

Who said I spin my tires all the time on the street? That has nothing to do with my appreciation for the 4.10s. The feeling that I have an extra "virtual" low end rear wheel torque? Yeah, that's pretty much what I like about the 4.10s. People who don't have 4.10s are pretty much the...

Stock gear 3.27 1/4 times and mph (NA ONLY)...

I completely agree. Plus, I actually think it's easier to launch with 4.10s/stock tires than with the 3.27s/stock tires. You basically modulate the throttle only and walk it out of the hole with street tires. With 3.27s, you must slip the clutch way more. It's harder to do, plus it's harder...

    Official Tremec 3650 Issues Thread

I HIGHLY recommend NOT putting your new shifter on until you are satisfied with the way your tranny shifts (or you just decide to live with the notchy shifting tranny.) The last time I was at the dealer, they pointed out to me that I had an aftermarket shifter and aftermarket underdrive pullies...
