Advice on lowering fluid level for the 3650 doesn't ring true to me. . .

I have read on this board several times that so & so called tremec's tech line and they advised them to lower the fluid level to 3.2 litres (3.5 U.S. Quarts) and use any Dextron III ATF or Mobil One Synthetic ATF. Well, not to add more confusion to the 3650 cluster-puck, but I called Tremec's tech line myself today and asked them what they recommend as far as fluid capacities and fluid specs. Guess what Paul ?? on their tech line told me?

1.) Fill capacity is approximately 3.8 litres (about 4 quarts)
2.) Mobil One Synth or any Dextron III ATF fluid
3.) Fill fluid until it is up to the lip of the fill hole.

I was about to try to lower my fluid level to 3.4-3.5 quarts, but now I am hesitating once again. I'm definitely not holding out for a warranteed Ford fix, so I guess I'll just live with my mildly notchy 1-2 shift. Unless anyone else here can give me some additional confirmation that Tremec actually told them to go with 3.2 liters (3.4 quarts) AND it really helped the notchiness.

Can anyone share their personal experiences with lowering the fluid level? Did it significantly help the notchiness? Let us know if you took the advice directly from Tremec or you took the advice from someone else. I really want to hear from people who actually spoke to Tremec. Obviously the guy I spoke with (Paul ??) is recommending something different that what I've heard others say Tremec has recommended. FWIW, this Paul guy @ Tremec was very cool and called me back very quickly. I just wish we could get clear, consistent advice from the maker of the tranny!

yea, He told me the same thing . At first that is what they suggested , but now they say to leave fluid level alone. They have a fix for it now. They keep telling me there will be a tsb soon. Mine is much better now but not sure if it is 100% fixed now. I do however have the new updated parts in.

when i called Tremec about the same problem, they told me to lower the fliud level, they said," that's what they recommended to Ford for the 04 Mach 1" so i trucked on down to Superlube, and did just that, still have a notchy feelingbut when it warms up it goes away. i still think something is wrong and Ford should dig a little deeper into the problem, instead of saying the tranny is operating normal.
