    Lowered my 66'

So I lowered my coupe. I did the shelby drop which was an 1 1/4 template, along with some cut 720 springs (guess theyre not 720's anymore). I somewhat boxed in my control arms. That should defintely add some rigidity to the arms, has anyone done something similar before? I will probly build a...

    Need input on a 400hp 351W

You could easily get over 400 horse out of a junkyard windsor for probly a bit over a grand. Almost 300 stock...

    MINI STARTER WIRING???

Dennis, by wiring it that way it caused my starter to hang up for about two seconds. I had to run a heavy gauge wire from the battery hot side of the solenoid` to the post on the mini starter. The little spade is your trigger wire that goes on the opposite side of the solenoid, (were your stock...

    Open diff?

And spools are awesome for road racing. The predictability of a spool is the best. With a detroit or posi, you never know when its going to "lock" and that can send you for a ride. They are the hardest on drivetrain because somethings got to slip, especially with big sticky tires. You dont even...

    Open diff?

A posi and a detroit locker do far from the same thing. A posi doesnt give you full lock, hence the term "limited slip" even tho pretty much anything can fall into that category. A detroit locker, when locked acts exactly like a spool, only difference is when the power is off, it acts like an...

    Piston Assembly

I life to push them in so that the wrist pin and circlip are perpendicular, then I carfeully rotate it and it snaps into place. At least is is what I do on all my motorcycles. Getting the opening straight up or straight down is best because inertia will keep them locked in aswell.

    Carbureted v. EFI

Carb allll the way. I see dudes running EFI with problems alll the time. Sure we have to jet and adjust more often, but its totally worth it. More power :D

    will hyper pistons be fine?

Depends what your going to do. Non supercharged fairly low CR motor should be fine with hyper's. I would run em all day

Anybody got the formula to figure out what gears you have?????????

Why dont you just jack it up and find out?Mark the drive shaft mark and the tire. Spin the tire 360 degrees. Count driveline revolutions. Not that hard.

    Exort Brace install

Get rid of them. If your reaching down they are jaged and good for getting your arm cut on. I just smacked them, bent them till they broke then hammered it "smooth"

Breaking in a new cam - what oil?

Non synthetic, zinc rich oil will be fine. Replace with your oil of choice after break in.

    What brakes?

I defintely wont be doing rear discs, because 10 x 2.5s's work to well. If I run the 13" Wilwoods (which I would like to) since I have the calipers, they do clear 15" rims which is sweet. As of now I am beefing up my suspension, welded up the a arms, 720's cut and a 1.5" drop on top of that.

    What brakes?

I have a set of Superlite wilwood 4 piston calipers. I would need rotors and hubs , prewferably some 13" Wilwoods. Do I need 16's or 17's to clear the 13" rotor? I know its like 17 w/ the Cobras brembo's.

How do I tell the difference in 3.55 gears, 3.73 gears and 3.27 gears?

 Thats why its a gear ratio. For sake of arguement 35 on the ring and 10 on the pinion would be 3.50

    What brakes?

Not a huge budget, probly under a grand if possible. Just front brakes, and I would be doing road courses like sears point and thunderhill and buttonwillow. motor would be a moderately built 302.

    What brakes?

I am building a street / open track 66' coupe and I just threw on some granada front discs for now. What brakes do you guys recomend for track use? I would like to go Wilwood, but all the brakes I see on summit look like the "show car" brakes with the aluminum hubs. On a 65' fastback that weve...
