Anyone with a Coupe have visor lights on there mirror?

What, worried you'll have a hard time putting on your makeup? :D Seriously, probably part of cost-cutting on Ford's part. I think earlier SN95s had underdash lighting...my 2002 doesn't. Ditto passenger-side exterior lock, strut tower brace, etc.

    a/c thumping noise

Does it kinda sound like a "schick" noise, once every few minutes? And when it happens, there's a tiny, momentary fluctuation in power? If so, then yes unfortunately it's normal. I believe the sound is of the A/C clutch going in and out. Annoying. Previous cars of mine never seemed to do...

Are there any other performance air filters besides K&N?

With those two, you get the best HP gains though if you put the sticker on the outside of the vehicle... :D

ford racing catback for 99+ gt

I've got one on my GT, and am very happy with it. It's a noticeable bit louder than the stock one, and a good deal lower in tone. Has a nice rumble when crusing, and a pleasingly loudness when when you accelerate. It's made by the OEM supplier, so perfect fit and made of stainless steel, as...

    wiper blades

Be ready for some sticker shock at the dealer though...usually $10 each. Ouch. And of course Ford doesn't make just the refills...that would make too much sense. You have to buy the whole blade, whether you need it or not. :(

    Enough power to kill yourself!!!

Some of us do understand what you're saying. I've had my GT for over 2 years now, and I still feel the same way. If it were a drag-track-only car, then yeah maybe I might get into the power thing. But for a all-purpose performance car, the Mustang stock has more power than most people (myself...

Ford on Warranties and Performance Parts

An interesting article from the Ford Racing parts website regarding vehicle warranties and Ford's policy on mods: http://www.fordracingparts.com/announcements/warranty_article.pdf Interesting as a public "company line" document of sorts...see esp. the second-to-last para.

Launch with TractionControl on or off?

But isn't the TC designed to automatically shut off if the car detects massive throttle application from a standing start? I remember reading that, but haven't tried it myself recently...

Does the shaker hood on the current Mach 1s actually HELP increase performance?

I've heard that the Camaro SS isn't in reality any faster than a Z28, for the reasons mentioned above...Is that true?

Simple question for you GT owners :D

Just out of curiosity, what sort of difference in the driving experience do you find between the 5.0 and the 4.6?

GRILL PONY DELETE??? IS IT POSSIBLE

If I had a Bullitt, I'd get rid of the pony. If you've seen the movie, you know why... :D

So thats why people get paid to do graphics.......(I'm an idiot.)

Sorry to hear about that; at least it was only $50. This is why I'm glad that I paid a bodyshop to do my rocker panel striping...

Air Silencer - What is it? Where is it? How do I remove it?

However, you'll probably lose a small amount of low-end torque if you take it out. So high-end HP vs. low-end torque...choose which you prefer more. :)

    New FRPP parts

Checked out GEF, and while didn't see the adapter in a cursory look, check out the "ignition coil covers" in the "new items" link...pretty expensive, but they cool kinda cool... :D

    New FRPP parts

Just came across this on the Ford Racing website: new parts introduced in April. Wow...some nice stuff there. http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/newparts02.asp Interesting to me: see the "gear ratio adapter" at the bottom...looks like Ford's finally figured out that if its going to...

    Rear Spring Airbags

Thanks...that's good info. I thought though that one puts an airbag in only one of the rear springs, to neutralize the lifting of the axle on one side (or something like that) due to the torque; isn't it a drag racing thing? Or am I thinking of something else?

    Rear Spring Airbags

Pardon a perhaps dumb question, but I've always wondered with airbags, how does one inflate/deflate them? Do you attach a little hose/squeezebulb to them and pump away or what? Does you leave them inflated the whole time, or just when drag racing?

    Old School

    If I had a '66 like yours, I'd say screw the 4.6s... :D No pics?? :(

can you turn the 04 gt traction lock off?

I think the problem, at least in my experience, is that it activates too readily and bogs the engine for too long a time...when it really would otherwise be a minor, momentary wheelspin and then go go go.
