An interesting article from the Ford Racing parts website regarding vehicle warranties and Ford's policy on mods:

Interesting as a public "company line" document of sorts...see esp. the second-to-last para.

It all depends on the dealer. Mine found I had a leaking head gasket with current mods. Said theyd cover it without any questions... never mentioned the car was modified once. Found the cylinder head to be warped and replaced it in 2 days (20k miles on the car). I didnt pay a penny.

Other dealerships would have run a mile!!

Although the article is a good guide, it is not entirely correct. The magnusson-moss act specifies that the manufacturer/dealer have to show that there is a direct correlation between a failed part and a mod. The onus of proof is not on the car owner but on the warranty provider/manufacturer. That is the theory at least.

Reality is totally different. If a dealer ( unless it's the only one in your area ) denies your claim, find another one that won't and always take your business to them thereafter.
