Please help a newbie fix his first cam install

What are the cam specs. Are you sure you just don't have a lopey cam? That's what happened to me. I didn't know any better I have a .5"+ lift with 1.72 rockers and a lopey idle. It pulls 5" vacuum at 700rpm but buy the time it is at cruise it is very smooth. My timing is 18 degrees (at...

I'll be buying new ones and welding them in right after I do the floors and TB.

    Shock Tower question

Your right. Since I have it stripped anyway, I will probably be better off in the long run replacing them and then not having to worry about something happening down the road.

    Shock Tower question

Valid point - but your also getting the tubular UCA. The drop unit itself is $60 Total Control Products When I drilled the holes on the cougar they came out right at the edge of the reinforcement piece. Not a big issue, I welded some shims so I could get full contact with the bolts. At...

    Shock Tower question

Interesting. I considered rewelding them since they are reinforced on the other side and then adding the boss tower reinforcement kit. I did the drop on my cougar and will do it on the stang too. TCP makes an UCA with the drop already machined into it. Total Control Products

    Shock Tower question

I was cleaning the stang today and as I cleaned the shock tower are I found this. It looks like it split to me. I looked at the passenger side and it is better but still odd. (notice the glob of weld on passenger side, could that be factory). This can't be normal can it? Or is this a case...

    Rotisserie connections

Google 'Auto rotisserie plans' and you should come up with some hits. Also look at the websites of the prebuilt ones and see what you like about them They are pretty simple as far as construction, the hardest part is making sure everything is square so it doesn't bind up on you

    Rotisserie connections

I built my own. I looked at a bunch of plans from the internet as well as flyers from the car shows and took the best of each that I liked and then drew up my own plans. I also used 3/16 (vs 1/8) steel so mine pretty heavy duty. The steel cost about $500. I also went with bigger castors so it...

    Rotisserie connections

Front I connected to the same connections as the bumper In the rear I welded tabs to the tube and connected to a hole in the frame rail near the leaf spring connection. I can get a better picture later if you like

    Frame question

Anyone have a good source of chassis dimensions for the 67 coupe. The dimensions in the shop manual are difficult to follow since I can't seem to find some of the reference points shown in the drawing. (for example it looks like it is referencing a hole in the frame rail but there isn't one...

    Sequence Question

Thanks for the replies. 2+2GT - What are your thoughts about jack stands or rotisserie? Since I was going to cut one floor out at a time I'm not sure if flex will be an issue but I don't want to take any chances if some of you more experienced folks think otherwise

    Sequence Question

So I stripped the car down and on tap for repair are: 1) Both Front floor boards (just the front piece), seat pans and toe boards 2) Both frame rail floor supports 3) Replace Torque box (drivers side) and put in a TB on Pass side 4) Replace floor board crossmember I would like suggestions...

    Shelby Drop Template For 68

Make sure you check where the drill will come out on the shock tower inside the engine bay. I did the drop on my cougar and came out on the inside at the edge of the inner support. I had to weld extra metal onto so I could get 100% contact with the bolt. On the Mustang I will be going with...

    Help Stiffen Me Up!

I have a 67 and it would be difficult to get to the bolts on top of the rear shocks? I'm not sure if the same issue exists in a 65 though.
