How to make the mustang 2000 faster?

In 10 years it probably will be a ball of plastic... Oh, you said "ballin classic"...nm To get what you want out of it (considering the body is good): Ford Performance Rear End w/ 3.73's or 4.10's: $700+shipping Transmission (rebuilt): $700 shipped Complete, built 4.6 DOHC...

    Brake problems

Those don't look new rotors. If they aren't new then it looks to me like they weren't turned or if they were turned the guy didn't let the cutter run all the way off the rotor. Some don't and leave a lip.

    Rubbing sound, video, need help

Honestly hard to tell. If it does it constantly you need to pinpoint it by moving your head around that area to see where it exactly sounds like.

smoke and burning smell from wheel well

Check your fluid. If you have a squishy pedal or braking isn't normal you might have boiled the fluid which will require a flush.

    Clutch Recommendations

DO NOT get the Fidanza. They seem to be really bad quality. Mine wouldn't engage completey and was engaging at an angle causing it to vibrate and chatter really bad.

    Aftermarket differential cover leak

I used RTV. It's not leaking on the edges, it's leaking out of the silver bolt area on the middle of the cover.

    Aftermarket differential cover leak

I have the Grantelli aluminum diff cover. I noticed after a little while of putting it on that there was dust/grime all over it. I was assuming it was a leak but couldn't figure out where. I checked the fluid today and it's not really low but I did some further investigating and noticed...

Transmission problems (again - not clutch)

Yep. I replaced it with a junkyard model for $200 installed. I got a little mileage out of it until the clutch packs in the LSD started to go. I just went ahead and bought a whole brand new FRPP one with 3.73's in it for $700. I don't get how Ford wanted over $1,000 to rebuild this one when...

Transmission problems (again - not clutch)

Turned out to be the pinion bearing exploded, draining all the fluid and ruining the rear end.

    2002 Mustang gt clutch HELP!!

I got a Fidanza 2.1 clutch. Not overkill by any stretch but it developed a crazy shudder that would shake the whole car, especially on hills. I had the flywheel resurfaced when it went in. The problem was the clutch fingers weren't engaging correctly and caused the clutch to engage at an...

    Advice on 275's up front?

I have 295/18's out back and 245/18's out front. I had 255's but they would track so bad it was crazy. The 245's have almost non-existant tracking and I can feel my 295's do it on occasion. Almost feels like a slight shudder. I also like the 245's responsiveness compared to the 255's...

    Car smoking really bad

Since I went to my O/R H-pipe in colder weather I definitely notice steam coming from the exhaust. Even sometimes in cool weather it does it. In the summer it does not hardly do it though. There is a distinct difference between steam and smoke too. To see smoke maybe run some Seafoam...

    cost of gear install

I got a brand new FRPP rear end for $700 off eBay with gears of choice... It was $300 (labor only) from Ford when I had them put in my 3.73's the first time.

    McLeod Hydraulic Clutch Conversion Kit

I use one in my race car (not this model). I love it and hate it at the same time. I like it because it's better than a stock pivot fork (think GM 3-speed) but it's a pain in the butt to install and bleed. With mine, maybe not this one, I have to shim behind it to make it work. Get it wrong...

Question on letting car warm up

I'll let mine idle for about 5 minutes for heat. Otherwise I just drive off and shift before I hit 2k. My diesel truck is what I let warm a little. It's a dog when cold :) I have a "new" rebuilt tranny and it still does a little bit of clashing on 1-2 shift when cold. Some mornings it...
