I have the Grantelli aluminum diff cover. I noticed after a little while of putting it on that there was dust/grime all over it. I was assuming it was a leak but couldn't figure out where.

I checked the fluid today and it's not really low but I did some further investigating and noticed it was leaking from the "deflection" bolt on the right side. I could see just a small drop seeping from the bolt.

What would be the fix without taking the cover completely off? I'm thinking I could back the allen screw all the way out then put some teflon tape back on and run her back in to the torque spec.

Hey there. IMHO, If it were me I would take the cover off again. I know it sucks, but if the fluid level is low there may be some more metal shavings than usual? Did you use RTV sealant on the gasket? I had gears installed by AAMCO and they didnt use RTV and mine leaked after a week. I took it back and the tech said yea they should have used it. So, they did it for free. If you absolutely dont want to take the cover off. Maybe some RTV sealant around the edge where its leaking. Other than that... make sure there is no gear oil flung on your exhaust or your underbody as this may be the seal where the driveshaft enters the diff.
