    Electrical Charging Issues

basically it only happens at idle. The charging goes up when I am at driving speeds. The wierd thing about this is that this alternator only works on Mustangs and T-Bird/Cougar of various years. I don't think the pulley is any different from those cars. I will try a different alternator...

    A/c System

Are you stating this because the turbo is in the way of where the compressor was originally? I am kind of confused as to why you couldn't reuse what you have. But as others have said, this is definitely a do it yourself type of job. If you bring it to a shop, they are going to charge $$$ for...

    Electrical Charging Issues

I had seen some wierd fluctuation in my charging a couple weeks back, so I pulled my alternator to have it tested and it failed. I bought a remanufactured alternator to try and remedy the problem, but what I am experiencing now I don't have an explaination for. The charging system works...

    My interior refresh build thread

Here is one of the books. http://www.amazon.com/dp/1931128006/?tag=stangnet-20 The other was called Custom Automotive Interiors by the same author, but it may be too old to list. Muslin is a type of material. My aunt said it was like a cheese cloth. Very thin and used to keep your thread...

    My interior refresh build thread

Please don't mis-understand. I really like the way the seats came out. You can make them however you want. I am very proud of what I accomplished. I enjoyed doing it. I just think it takes a lot more time than I thought and wouldn't do it again because of the time commitment and not being...

    My interior refresh build thread

I have between about $500 invested in this project plus my time. That includes all materials and tools. It also includes all the paint and dye for the interior. If I were to buy just a set of vinyl seat covers, that would be what you would pay for those. I decided on a material that is a...

    My interior refresh build thread

Thanks! The most important piece I learned from the book was what equipment and materials I was going to need. Without reading that, I would have had a cheap sewing machine and I would have ripped through the gears in no time at all trying to sew this. I also learned a lot about how the...

    My interior refresh build thread

Here are some more pics... This is what my bucket seat looked like before... This is what it looked like after. (I have a hog ring clamped wrong, but I will fix that before it goes in the car that is why there looks to be a flaw on the left side) side by side shot. The old...

    My interior refresh build thread

It has been a while since I have posted an update. I have finished the seats and have them installed on the foam. I have not put them in the car yet, but they look good none the less. Here is the head rest cover: This is making part of the back seat. I have a side by side piece...

Terminator Style Meets Fox Body Frames !!

I am just finishing making my seat covers. I have had a lot of time and effort put into them, but if they were customizable with like Black and a white leather middle (instead of suade) with a black running pony, I would have to consider swapping my seats again. But then I would have to deal...

    Dash Repair & New Upholstery

It is pretty straight forward. I wouldn't be afraid of the headrest. I found them to be the easiest. But then again, I am the one who made my seat covers so I knew exactly what to expect.

    Vert Seatbelts

I know LMR has the rear sets. I just bought a new set for the front. they run about $174 per set. It isn't the cheapest, but what you have to consider is that you are spending that money to try to keep yourself from getting killed in an accident. Is the money saved over relubing your...

'vert And T-top Guys With A/c- Get Yo Azz In Here.

I know a guy with a compressor. I am gonna be at his house this weekend if you want me to see how much he wants for it. I saw on the LMR site that the r134 system is like $700. I use my air all the time with the top down. It keeps a nice cool breeze blowing. (well, not in the 86 because the...

    Negative Cable Burning Up.

I had something like this happen on my 86. I replaced all the battery cables as they were probably the originals. I noticed that there were some that were actually split open so they could have been shorting out. Once the cables were replaced, no more slow starts when warm.
