    1998 4.6 4V Timing/tune ???s

Hi again kids. 4V guys...help me out here with a couple of simple things. Timing advance/adjustment on my 98 4V...what can you tell me? Tuning my 98 4V...is there ANYTHING to be gained from a $500 Dyno tune on this stock engine? ANY other tuning mods or 'optimizing what I have'...

Another pathetic newbee asking for assistance

Great idea. Those 'local dealers' are called 'wholesale' lots...they get cars at auction that are too old or have too many miles for a retail lot to keep after taking it in trade...among 'other' cars. As long as it's not one of these 'other' cars (verified by a Carfax report) you stand a...

Another pathetic newbee asking for assistance

That sounds like a hell of a deal friend! I just bought my '98 back in June and gave $10,500 for it with 105k showing. These are VERY simple, sturdy cars. They need new parts from time to time of course, at that mileage. The engine, if cared for, should be in fine condition. Check to see that...

WHAT DO U THINK ABOUT THE 05 MUSTANG???

Can't deal with it. I GREW up with late 60s and 70 Stangs. I loved them. The 05s look big, fat and square in comparison. The interior is horrible...big, square, open. I said it before...It's not a sports car anymore Dorothy. :(

CraigMack...you hit the nail right on the head...I am an old guy! LOL OKAY...SPRAY GUYS...give me some education here. How can it be used? A few secs at a time? How does the power come on? How often can it be used? How does each system work? I'M ALL EARS!!!

    50+ HP increase for my 98 4V?

This car is my TOY. It sees alot of hard driving...on the public roads. It's my little road racer on a budget and I love it! So I don't need gobs of HP. I want closer to 350+ available for my 'enthusiastic' runs through the canyons. I want to be able to keep up with a Vette without doing...

    50+ HP increase for my 98 4V?

Tell me how to get to this seemingly attainable goal. NO SPRAY! Boost? (Least expensive, most troublefree, driveable, good throttle response.) Must run with stock internals. Cams & heads? What exactly are my options here? Who does 4V cams? What can be done with my stock heads? What kinds...

    98 Cobra Clutch replacement???

Wow...All i can give is from experience...DO NOT go with the Valeo King Cobra clutch. They have been having mucho problems with reliability as of late. I went through my brand new one in 2 months!! It just came apart. Several others here have experienced the SAME failure. I went with...

    PROBLEMS WITH 96-98COBRAS

Mine is a daily driver/toy. It gets driven both easy and VERY hard. About 60/40. It runs like new and leaks NOTHING and still winds to 7K rpm without complaint. It has 112,000+ miles on the motor/trans! No factory Strut tower braces on the 98.

    is 600cfm really enough?

NO TIMING ADVANCE?!? Have u checked/tuned the centrifugal advance? You need some spark advance to get that motor to RUN! My 68 289 dist. has had the advance aprings replaced with the lightest ones I could get. I time my car with a vacuum gauge and a test drive...it's the ONLY way to get...

    Is it Worth the Trouble

What else did you do differently? Inquiring minds want to know. OH!! Congratulations by the way...no matter the crap talk that follows...you BEAT him 'fair and square' in a 1/4 mile 'for time' race. From dead stop out to 1,320 feet, you are quicker, you get there first, no matter the MPH...

    Centerforce owners get in here!

With 50 miles on it? You may have just ruined your 'new' Centerforce...I hope not. I hope it's something with the cable. It's also definitely NOT normal to have any chatter with a new Dual Friction. Kids....sheesh! :nonono: :D

which would make a bigger improvement in handling?

You maybe could save up a little more and really get a bang for your bucks with some adjustable shocks. The KYBs are VERY good (4 way struts and 8 way shocks) and are available for as little as $350/set. Eibach Pros can be had for $175-ish. THAT combination will give you unlimited...
