    1999 Cobra Exhaust Question

Compared to any other peformance muffler it's probably the quietest but a tad louder than stock, sounds good with good performance. A very good muffler except like any Flowmaster (or chambered muffer) has a drone to it. The inside noise is very low except when the drone kicks in about 2K RPM. If...

    1999 Cobra Exhaust Question

FlowMaster 40 DeltaFlow mufflers, I had welded these into my stock exhaust when I first bought the car. Bought them from www.Steeda.com 159-942444 Flowmaster Components: 2-1/4" 2-Chamber Muffler for 1999 Cobra (each) $69.95

My CC plates damaged my hood

That's the reason you use spacers which are generally included with the CC plates, so it doesnt hit the hood. Sounds like a poor install.

Couple of new mods done to the 99 for this year

Yes I went back to the stock airbox with K&N and 2001 air duct temporarily untill Volant finishes the CAI for the 99-01 Cobra which should be done mid June. I had my 87mm recalibrated for a straight shot setup to be used with the Volant. It used to be calibrated for a bend into the fender which...

Couple of new mods done to the 99 for this year

As for the Meziere, most people have had good luck with them, some havent. Those that had failure was usually a result of debris in the cooling system jamming the impeller on the electric pump or a fuse blowing. I keep my coolant clean but I am also installing a coolant filter to further protect...

Couple of new mods done to the 99 for this year

Spacer is made and sold by PHP and it's metal. You'll find it in the Mach 1 section. Here's a link to a review from Mach 1 crowd. http://mach1review.com/PHPSpacerReview.html

Couple of new mods done to the 99 for this year

The car is nearly set for this year with the exception of a new CAI by Volant and a SCT Extreme Flasher with custom tune which both are scheduled for June. I did a butt load of tweaks and changes over the winter (perf and cosmetic) so no individual dyno's done this round, will be one final dyno...

Heres some eye candy I added to the engine compartment

Cool, actually they were the polished and I painted them to match the car since the car is black and other engine pieces were painted black also. I'm getting ready to outfit the accessories with billet. missouri_guy197, I have seen others take these covers for 99+ and using a dremel or...

Any 99-01 owners ever notice this

I'm sure it's not a huge deal performance wise but I found it interesting that Ford changed the design and part number for this piece between 1999 and 2001 models. Notice they removed the top set of ribs in the air duct for 2001. Iwouldnt be surprised if it helped a little bit, afterall anything...

    Thermostat benefit ?

For those from the old school one would think swapping out for a lower temp thermostat would be a good thing, however I have found that with the 4.6 DOHC engine and many other modern engines there is no benefit as they are designed to run warm for efficiency and emmissions purposes. In addition...

    Headers

Here's a shot of my Hookers which replaced a set of chrome JBA shorty's. IMO the JBA's were junk, over priced and not well made. The hookers were perfect with no slag inside, and jet hot coated inside and out. I think the pictures speak for themselves. BTW, those are chrome JBA shorty's after...

Here is some info on Volant CAI systems

Todd, performance wise yes, I will be interested also. It is a different approach than the DenseCharger it doesnt put the filter in fender with the 90 degree pipe off the MAF. There are really two main MAF calibrations, one for conical filter (or airbox) off the MAF and one for the 90 degree...

Here is some info on Volant CAI systems

OK, got the one month update today from Volant. They got a 99 Cobra test car in with a STB installed (dont know which brand STB) and got a design fitted. Appears the lightning owners buy the Volant kits but had to drill extra holes in the airbox to allow more air to enter the box as the engine...

    Convertible top boot..

99's did not have snaps, the 01's did. You can add snaps to the 99 if you want like I did and it will help. But as mentioned the boot covers are not very good.
