    backfiring?? what would be the cause?

    Check your exhaust system too. My stock h pipe got a little old it broke right above the first cat and I really couldn't see it until I took the pipe off. You can probably feel up around the cat. My car was backfiring real bad until I replaced it.

    I have the same problem with you. I talked to a couple of tranny shops and they said you should really never have the flywheel turned. They said always replace it with a new one.

    You might want to check and make sure your O2 sensors are working right. I had a problem with my car dumping alot of fuel and it would spit and sputter and blow black smoke. I changed the O2 sesors and that took care of it
