I just picked up some afr 165 emissions legal. I need to know if I can block the smog passage with a brass plug or if I need to get a special plug. If it takes a brass plug what size is it?

You can either use the FRPP plugs or a 5/8" by 1" bolt (11 tpi). I'm surprised the AFR's didn't come with that plug...

Heres the part number TFS-51400265

I know theres probably other brands out there, but this is the one from Trick Flows web site... Not like it really matters what brand. It says sold individually so I'm guessing you need two  Might be able to call trick flow and get the size for them and go to a hardware shop and buy your own.

I also heard a spark plug works too so might wanna give that a try.

It seems that maybe the bolt is the better option, if you don't need to thread anything into it. I'd bet that if you want to remove it later, the treaded in one would be more difficult to remove.

I screwed up and went to my dealer and paid $9.11 each, that was before I knew that Summit sold them for $2.99 each.

How do you install these? A big screwdriver??

Rick

I installed a smaller bolt into this piece and then tightened the bolt down.
