My motor Blew on Friday night

Sounds like a melted/broken ring land, and possibly the 1st compression ring. Good luck!

    Crazy fuel pressure fluctuations..

I'll have to look into going blow through.. I set up my last Mustang that way, and it ran great. The wiring seems easy enough.. Travis

    Crazy fuel pressure fluctuations..

It's definitely out of pump.. that's for sure. I purchased the car like this, so I'll be doing some upgrading for sure. The previous owner ran a -6 feed line from a Mallory fuel filter (in the stock location), up to the fuel rails. It is pretty new (6K miles).. The pressure at idle is...

    Crazy fuel pressure fluctuations..

My 04 GT that I just picked up is having some crazy fuel pressure fluctuations.. It's got a single Ford GT pump installed, and the car makes around 540whp with a built motor/t-trim. I've noticed that while cruising around, from time to time, the fuel pressure gauge will start bouncing...

    ProMotion 3650 with SFI adapter/bell..

Thinking about upgrading to the 750hp ProMotion trans, and new SFI adapter/bell housing. Is anyone running one of the ProMotion 3650's with some substantial HP, and track abuse? I had a Viper spec T56 in my old car, but, I don't feel like spending 3-4K this time around if I can avoid it...

    Stangzone (Florida) FRAUD!

vin number locations - Lightning Forum | LightningRodder.com Guy buys a "2002 Lightning" from a shop in Florida called "Stangzone". Well, apparently, the owner pulled a fast one.. Swapping the VIN number and title from a 2002 F150, over to what is probably a stollen (or wrecked) Lightning...

    Project- 9's for 9K.. :)

A few updates on our shop car We have busted WAY through the 9K budget on this build.. Oh well.. ;) I tried.. I ditched the SCT tuner and stock ECM for a Big Stuff 3, 96lb injectors, and 3 bar MAP setup. Picked up the entire setup from DetroitSpeed Shop for 1600.00 with the terminated...

    Project- 9's for 9K.. :)

The Windsor iron block will handle in excess of 1000+whp.. my aluminum block is "said" to be slightly weaker.. but, I don't really believe that.. I've seen several WAP blocks in the 1000hp range.. I think it's all in the block prep and build.. Travis

    Project- 9's for 9K.. :)

When building a high HP motor, we never go by the manufacturer's specs.. It is necessary to go with slightly more rod and main clearance.. Since we don't expect 100k+ out of this engine, we sacrifice longevity for durability. The mains are kept reasonably tight, so we don't drop the pressure...

    Project- 9's for 9K.. :)

I'm confused.. The stock "block" will handle 1000+hp.. which is what we're shooting for.. The internals are being replaced with billet parts.. with the exception of the crank, which is a forged cobra unit.. Travis

    Project- 9's for 9K.. :)

The stock motor never grenaded.. ;) I never really ran it hard though.. maybe 2-3 times at the drag strip..

    Project- 9's for 9K.. :)

So, I finally got around to my motor... I had to brush a few cob-webs away, but, everything has been kept fresh in anti-rust bags/packaging, stowed away in my garage over the winter.. Mic'd everything today, and then installed the crank this evening.. At 60ft lbs on the 12mm main studs...

    WAP aluminum block TQ specs..?

Looking for the TQ sequence/specs for the WAP aluminum block.. I have the specs, I believe.. 60ft lbs for ARP studs (both sets) 30ft lbs/90 degrees for side bolts I'm assuming that the side bolts need to be TQ'd down first, to align the caps..? I just don't want to guess.. ;) At the...

    Project- 9's for 9K.. :)

Sorry for letting this thread go.. I've been busy working on a few customer projects, and haven't really had time to work on my car. I do have my block/rotating assembly/heads back from the machine shop, and it's ready to assemble. I also have a Moser spool and 31 spline axles to install...

    Project- 9's for 9K.. :)

Got the cage installed.. Just have to sand/paint it this weekend. I had them add plates to backside of the upper/lower TQ boxes, and then tie that into the cage. I shouldn't have to worry about distortion in that area anymore. :) We're prepping/painting the entire inside of the...
