Well the Taurus fan pulls about 140 amps for miliseconds upon startup, then goes down to like 40 amps, add a radio, a/c, headlights, and all and thats alot of amps being drawn from a 75 amp alternator. 3g alternator upgrade!! :flag:
They came in 94-95 Mustang GT's. Get one from ebay for like 139.00 New, and a Lifetime Warrenty. Thats what I did. As for the Electric fan, I pulled mine off a 3.8L Mercury Sable, same as the 3.8L Ford Taurus Fan. LOOK below in my sig, for the wire up Install.
I did my install wihtin 1 hour, the longest part of it all was grinding down the alternator bracket. Also for the fan install, Look in my sig for the install on the fan, it works great with no problems!
5LiterMustang - I bought 2 3.8l Taurus/Sable Fans for $35 bucks at my local pick & pull. They are having manager special sales on all "Beat the Summer Heat" Items including elec. Fans. It was fairly simple, and the entire install took about 2 hours using the diagram I first posted.
Lol, wow...heh, well yeah I went to Autozone and asked them for the kit they sell to secure an electric fan to the radiator. Thanks Guys, need this a Sticky Indeed!
Well, I finnaly came around to contribute to this. I have field tested this install & relay for about 1 month, along with 89StangLX's setup I also did. Well, here you go, I hope this helps, Basically you just need wire connectors & Wire itself! :flag:

Just bought a Taurus fan, and want to know how to install it. Any write ups? Also any tips, or can someone give me advice on what to buy to make this work right? I know I need a relay kit(and Im buying a 3g alternator tonight...) so what else? Help! :flag:
I heard you can, need to pull of the radiator, and all things that block that passage tho. Also IMO!!, I suggest pulling the Lifters out, to be on the same side(instead of using those tool thingies.)
Lol, yeah some people paint them before, but that just cuase they hear stories like this before hand. Anyhoo..How where the Flow-Techs, performance Wise? Did you feel a nice difference? Worth the money?

There is no real "Edition"..if he says that, then hes just telling you that as a selling technique. All Mustangs from april of 89-april of 90 where in the '25th' year of production, and recieved the new speedometer(140mph), with calibration...thats about it....IMO '89's are the best year to...
I ran 12 volts to it and it worked fine. You can find an ECU tech guide online, and use the paperclip thingy to test it. It should help you that way.
